CBC is a home based bakery opened by Selvan Moodley, a retired Pick N Pay bakery manager, he has been in the bakery industry for 30 years and counting.. This is the bakers man dream to open up a bakery. We offer a wide variety of tasty freshly baked goodies from breads too delicious cakes..

Popped in for Sunday lunch. Parking available on the street outside. Tables available on the curb outside and inside. Service was average. Lots of variety on offer but the food wasn’t so great. We tried savories, cakes and ordered of the menu. The freshly pressed juices had way to much ginger. Will probably not be back anytime soon.
Stopped by Country Bake on a Friday morning, a sunny but chilly day. Upon entering you are met with a wonderful aroma of freshly brewed coffee, and baked goodies. After being offered a table we opted for a couple of cappuccinos , which were heavenly. Rich, robust flavours with a mild chocolatey undertone. Perfect start to your day . I opted for the Sunrise breakfast, which included 2 eggs, sausages, baked beans, chips, grilled mushrooms, and grilled tomatoes. A hearty feast indeed! Farm fresh organic eggs, the yolks bursting with goodness, crispy chips, garlicky mushrooms, slightly spicy baked beans topped off with 2 lamb sausages. The crispy homemade farm style slab of toast was the perfect accompaniment to the already stellar breakfast. Lovely start to the day. We also opted for the omlette, which was a half moon shaped food treasure chest containing 3 cheeses and fresh crisp veggies. Accompanied by the same lamb sausages and a small side salad. Very satisfying . Service is attentive and warm. They have an adjoining trendy art space where you can sit as well, with custom art pieces for sale. The bakery section is packed with freshly made cakes, pies, desserts and breads, so be sure to buy something for a treat later on. Overall a very good experience. The place to literally sit and have a bite to eat while watching the world go by. Fully Halaal. Recommended
Service: Average. Waitress didn't seem visibly all that interested in what I was saying. But her speech indicated otherwise. Food and drink: I had the "Eastern Breakfast". It was very filling. But the only fresh item in it was the eggs and perhaps the beans. The roti was super thin and hard like it was yesterday's. Would've appreciated if they kept it in a warmer even if its yesterday's. Same goes for the aloo. Taste-wise: generally bland Presentation needs improvements. Cuppaccino was okay. Ambience: Great and relaxed!
Wonderful breakfast, lovely Sunday morning experience. The waitress was very friendly and made sure we were looked after. Great menu, with choices from breakfast and lunch meals. Must try items from the famous bakery.
Service was good & waitress was pleasant. Food was well presented but terrible. Tempura prawns were fried,oily& raw which threw me off completely. My baked potato with cheese sauce & a side of spinach came with baked potato & spinach & when I asked where the cheese sauce was the waitress said its a seperate charge which I didn't mind but cheese sauce came when I was nearly done eating. My drinks came dripping to my table. Not a restaurant for the classy customer. Disappointing really.
Lovely coffee and bakery spot in Durban. The atmosphere, decor and setup is amazing. The staff here is very friendly especially the old Indian gentleman. Love the menu, very Monday my friends and I head over here for the Marvelous Monday R10 special. This spot is a must try
This place totally blew my mind. I had the simply eggs on toast from the menu along with the sweet French toast. The eggs are free range and are really wholesome. The French toast was absolutely fantastic. The cappuccino is really nice, rich and creamy made with fresh milk. 10/10 would recommend
The bakery is great with a variety of fresh cakes and breads and will return for this. We had breakfast which really was average. Eggs Benedict with salmon was served a fresh side salad and two very sadly poached eggs. Tramezzimi overly spicy. Service is also extremely slow but not due to lack of staff...maybe the kitchen
A hidden Gem! If you enjoy sweet treats you'll love this place!! There's a variety of pastry treats, pasta. They make delicious Alfredo Cool place for solo dates, coffee dates, etc there's also an art space
I was so excited to be finally going to this establishment as it's been on my go-to list for a while now. Sadly, I was disappointed. Country bake was definitely not my cup of tea. The Iced mocha was underwhelming, chocolate cake dry and my milktart had a hard base that made it quite chewy. I don't find this place aesthetically pleasing either, as a result I don't see myself returning. The only good thing about it is the service and reasonable prices. I've included my friends meal so that you may get an idea of the menu.
