I had the rump, I've had better... I would attribute this to the butcher or the cow, not the chef, the grill was perfect, but the meat cut was very fatty and stringy, struggled to chew it through, but the menu items were on point and prices were very decent. I'm definately going back, but I may steer clear of the beef unless the cuts of meat improve.

Lovely place. Good service. The lemon meringue slice was scrumptious. Crumbed chicken breast was tasty. The chips were really good. I would definitely go back. Not badly priced either.

Surprisingly good food, had fish and chips, look forward to trying the mussel pot next time. Butternut squash soup was amazing.Food: 4/5

Food is good value for money. One tends to forget though that there are still places where people can still smoke extensively outdoors and this can prove irritating. Nice deck for social eating and drinking. Wait staff are amazing clued up and friendly. Do not however order water with a meal or drink as there is a 3 reminder, 1/2 hr waiting period policy in place. However should you order a chargeable drink to consume while waiting for your free water, this is delivered promptly. Overall: friendly and attentive staff, good atmosphere and food.

The legendary landmark dining and bar venue is still going strong after at least 40 years that I am aware of. I popped in for a coffee as I was in the area and then ended up having dinner after my friend suggested looking at the menu. The waitress then told us about the specials and it was to crazy and a no brainer to grab the very reasonable or crazy low special. I had a Bacon, Brie and Cranberry pizza and my friend had a pasta. A most enjoyable meal and I shall certainly rush back there to have another special before it ends. We were wondering if it is still the same owners after all these years. The place was clean, service was good and food was great and even better due to affordability. You would be crazy not to try it! Enjoy as much as we did.

Food is delicious, place is very cosy but most of all staff is amazing. The young gentleman with dreadlocks who assisted us have an excellent client service skills. I just don't remember his name but he definitely loves his job.

Very nice atmosphere, friendly service. unfortunately waited over an hour for the first few servings and towards an hour and a half for all the tables food. It was a busy night.Recommended dishesBunny Chow, Pollo Peppadew Pizza

I had the best service ever from Macdonald on Saturday night. He is friendly, efficient and has an incredible sense of humor. The food was great but honestly Macdonald made our whole tables night. He is just fantastic and such an asset to the team. I will most certainly be back. Great night.

I did experience alot of unfriendliness in this predominantly white restaurant... The food was really delicious . I had a steak medium to rare with a lovely mushroom sauce and a side of salad,however the salad wasn't as expected as the Lettuce was not crisp, green and fresh,I returned my salad as did my friend. The manager did apologise and offered a free glass of wine as a way of apology to my friend and removed the salads from our bill,which was a lovely gesture,however I did feel a tad uncomfortable being a person of colour as the only other person's of colour were the waitrons and waitresses at the time It was not a place that I as an Indian female would frequent ,as I really did not enjoy the unfriendly faces at all,and it was awkward smiling at people who just looked not at you but through you!!! However the food is great and they have really nice specials for each day of the week,which 2 people can partner up and go enjoy

The waiters were generally polite, helpful and friendly when I arrived but what I was served was really disappointing. The salad was really terrible, I hardly touched it. The chicken was ok and the only thing i actually ate along with the avo. The lettuce used was the very base of the lettuce head and looked a bit browned old making it a really unpleasant eat and other than that there was very little of anything else in the salad. I was told it would be a Greek salad but I didn’t see any olives in this salad. I let the waitress know that I was disappointed and she didn’t event enquire as to what my concerns were about, after that she was not attentive and didn’t even settle my bill. I waited and had to go to the reception to settle my bill. I got the sense that the meal and follow up service is simply how they operate. This was my first time in Hilton and first restaurant I experience here while down for the Midmar Mile and based on this experience I wont come back to this pub nor would I recommend it.
