I love this company! They did a wonderful job arranging a 6-day Garden Route trip when I was in Cape Town in 2018 so of course I had to use their services again when booking my overland trip from Cape Town to Victoria Falls. Louise was so helpful answering dozens of my questions and she did such a wonderful job arranging a very memorable journey for me, booking layovers and giving advice and suggestions to better the experience along the way. Can’t recommend them enough!

I stayed around the corner and Detour Africa was the first tour agency I chanced upon when I first landed in Cape Town. I’m the sort of person who will check out a couple of places to compare prices first before making a decision. But with all things, there’s an exception. And the exception here is due to the exceptional service of Miss Robyn Phillips. She greeted me with a big smile and as I entered. I already had a rough idea of the kind of tours I want, and just want some quotations from her. She immediately gave me lots of advice on the best tours to take, and even what not to take. She is not pushy in her sales at all, and she really does has her customer’s best interest at heart. Hence it was with nary a doubt I immediately booked for a cape of good hope cycling tour with her and it turned out to be one of the best experiences ever! Keep up the good work Robyn! Kudos to you and Detour Africa!

Elana was most helpful in scheduling a trip down the Garden Route. She helped us determine the best tour for us and did it with a very short lead time. We booked the 7- day accommodated trip with Nomad Tours. The trip/timing/people/guide/drivers were GREAT and everything went as well or better than we could have imagined. We loved the start in Port Elizabeth at Kudo ridge, ADO Elephants, the Otter trail hike to the waterfall, Monkey land, Ostrich Farm, Cultural Tour, Stellenboch, the beautiful coastline... I booked a Nomad adventure travelling through Africa as well as a Rovos Rail trip from Cape Town to Joberg through Detour Africa and cannot praise this company enough. My travel consultant Louise spent a lot of time on the phone as well as emails helping me decide what to book and her knowledge and advice was excellent and any queries or worries I had she handled quickly and professionally. After getting great feedback of one of my clients, I decided to go an a tour myself with Footprints in Africa. We planned to do a 7 day camping tour to Krugerpark, Swaziland and Durban. We had a lovely small group and therefore extended our tour to do the Sani Pass to Lesotho and Drakensberg area. We camped for 3 nights and stayed in other accommodations for the rest of the nights. Mark is a cheerful guide and made us some nice meals. We had great banter with all of our group members. The highlight on this tour was definitely the sunset safari and the full day safari at Krugerpark where we were very lucky seeing the big five and some other beautiful animals. The communication with Detour and it's agent Elana went very well and she gave clear and satisfying information. We would absolutely recommend Detour and Footprints in Africa, I suggest Footprints to update their site as it is not very userfriendly and out-dated. The Detour website gives you all the required information. Once again thank you, we hope to be back soon!
