About

Post-school systems which are capable of contributing to the lives of individuals,to the economy and to the broader society

Description

Our broad mandate is clear. On the demand side, the system must ensure that the skills needed to drive our country’s economic growth and social
development are delivered at an increasing rate, because available, quality skills will enhance both investment and service delivery. On the supply side, the
system must serve a growing number of both young people and adults; it must provide different entry points into, and pathways through the learning system;
it must provide quality learning wherever learning takes place – be it at a college, a university or in the workplace; and, importantly, it must provide easy
pathways across the different learning sites

Mission

Vision Statement
Our vision is of a South Africa in which we have a differentiated and fully inclusive post-school system that allows all South Africans to access and succeed in relevant post-school education and training, in order to fulfill the economic and social goals of participation in an inclusive economy and society.

Mission Statement
It is the mission of the Department of Higher Education and Training to develop capable, well educated and skilled citizens that are able to compete in a sustainable, diversified and knowledge-intensive international economy, which meets the developmental goals of our country.
The department will undertake this mission by reducing the skills bottlenecks, especially in priority and scarce skills areas; improving low participation rates in the post-school system; correcting distortions in the shape, size and distribution of access to post-school education and training; and improving the quality and efficiency in the system, its sub-systems and its institutions

I would give it a zero if possible,no answer since 2022 june , to 2023 june ...looking for my N3 certificate, with Tshwane north college in themba hammanskraal ,things are just worse the service is bad for certificates, I cant even get a job due to this.thank you ANC.
This "process" of this institutionTshwane South TVET College PTA West Campus is very slow and unpleasantly unprofessional. Today was supposed to be N5-N6 but they are still catering for the new students and N2's. No help has been offered to N5's and N6's whatsoever. And furthermore it is really inconsiderate because some of us travel by taxi from far away, and have been up since 3AM with no progress. They should finish with the N2's while we wait at home to be assisted because it's day two that I have been here but nothing to show that I am registering for N6. I hope the service improves quickly.
I have been failed by the department since last year. I have not been able to get my certificates. There's always excuses and they dont pick up the phone. It jus keeps ringing
This people don't answer calls and dont reply to emails
Hello. The Dept of Higher Education need to be overhauled particularly the TVET unit. The officials don't know what they are doing. I went there to make follow up on my outstanding N6 certificate even though I was having my statement of results but they couldn't help me. What bored me most is the manner in which I was treated, driving all the way from Mpumalanga for that kind of an attitude from the officials so called help desk.
is a shame that many as dated back to the year 2000 to 2022 are still waiting for their certificates to be printed. is a shame that some of your employees are asking an amount of R1500 to take an advantage of this predicament to poor students for something they worked hard for. People lose jobs and other opportunities that can change their lives to the better simply because the DHE has decided to hold their qualifications yet the same department advocates to better the Unemployment rates in the country.
I'm heartbroken, disappointed and torn apart, I am a Salesperson by profession, I recently applied for National N Diploma in Business Management but my application was rejected because they say the working experience that I obtained is irrelevant, I should obtain a working experience related to Entrepreneur and business management...the new business that I bring to the company that I work for everyday is it not related to Sales Management and Entrepreneur & Business Management? Mr President Ramaphosa and Dr Blade Nzimande please intervene because our dreams are shattered everyday, for what I don't know. A friend of mine was doing Financial Management and her did Administration for deceased estate but she got her diploma but mina I am doing something relevant to what I studied but my application has been rejected 2 times...I wouldn't recommend anyone to study at TVET colleges because struggle to get your diploma after completion. I need answers
I have applied for my National Diploma long time ago it been 10months now , when i call them they don't pick up phones , if i go to my college they keep on telling me that i must wait how can i wait for something that suppose to take a period of 3-6 months this is very depressing
Had to have university documents accredited fpr DIRCO. Was assisted by a lovely Ms. Mokalapa who was especially prompt and cheerful, she helped get my documents sorted by the next day. I've been to the Department before and can appreciate the improvement. Thank you, Brenda!
i applied for my national diploma last year June and have not gotten any correspondence from the department until now and the only thing i received was word from my college saying i have to reapply. with no reason as to why my application was not successful and if any-which documents should be included. i am peeved as there are so many job applications i am missing because of this certificate and now on top of this year that has already been wasted i have to reapply and wait another year if not more to than decide which direction to take. i would like correspondence back from the department and possible remedies its unacceptable that something so important and so critical can be taken so lightly by the department. with the state of the country as it is i think we have enough to deal with without adding onto the we don't have better jobs or lives.
