Let’s just say you get what you pay for. Just arrived home from a trip to Cape Cod and Martha’s Vineyard with this tour company. As someone who has experience planning events and trips for a living this trip was horribly planned. The hotel accommodations were horrible. We were told there were only older hotels on the island but we passed top hotel franchises during our tours. The food was less than stellar. When people travel they want to experience meals they can’t have at home not Cafeteria Food like frozen veggies and lasagna. I have food sensitivities and conveyed that ahead of time. But that was ignored. So I had to starve and go without breakfast and dinner and eat snacks I brought from home. We booked our flights separately and the rest of the people in our group flights were cancelled and they were stuck in the city for an extra day. The list goes on…there were so many things that went wrong.
I've gone on one trip with Diamond Tours. It was scheduled perfectly for Seniors. We were busy and on the go the entire trip. I have 2 trips planned this year. I hope they are as fun as my first trip with them.
We joined an Ark & Creation Museum bus tour, #1860093, with First Baptist Church, Hemphill, Tx on October 2-8, 2022. We looked so forward to this trip, as we’d never been to the Ark or the other excursions that were included in this trip. The leader from the church was awesome & went above & beyond the call of duty to keep us informed & comfortable. We were to stay in Cincinnati for 4 nights & shuttled to all of the excursions. With that being said, the excursions were over an hour away so that meant we would be on the bus 2+ hours a day. The traffic was so heavy at times, we were on the bus longer. On the day of the Diamond Tour dinner/entertainment meant 3 to 4 hours. To make matters worse, the driver would stop to get gas more than once, when she could’ve gotten it while we were on our excursions, so made more on & off which takes time & was unnecessary. Needless to say, we were worn out all the time from riding on the bus. Just don’t understand why your company would book this trip so far from everything that was scheduled. Please let us know the answer to this. Now for our prepaid meals. The first one scheduled was on 10/03/22 at Logan’s Roadhouse in Louisville, KY. We made our food choices, as were told, only to find out that we couldn’t chose how our steak was to be cooked. All steaks had to be cooked well done. As expected it was dry, dry, dry. So now we prepaid for a meal that we couldn’t enjoy. A few miles from the hotel on 10/03/22, supposedly Hyatt Place Cincinnati Northeast, Mason, OH, we find out that the hotel has been sold & is in transition of changing. They have no breakfast, so offer us a bag breakfast to take to our room the first night. It consists of fruit, muffin, bagels but no toaster for them, two boiled eggs still in the shell, & had to go downstairs to get coffee/juice. The 2nd, 3rd, & 4th morning they offered mushy, mushy, mushy, oatmeal, bagels with no cream cheese, muffin, dry cereal & milk, open bowl of canned fruit that was awful, open bowl of some kind of lumpy yogurt that tasted awful, coffee of which the pot was empty most of the time & juice. Our other prepaid meals were unsatisfactory also. O’Charley’s, Tuesday 10/04, served child size portions that were subpar. And servers did not attend tables adequately. Texas Roadhouse, Thursday, 10/06, served good food but everyone, on this tour, weren’t given the same menu choices by the servers. So, needless to say, my husband & I didn’t get the best option. However, the DT dinner with entertainment served delicious food. Entertainment was good. The bus needed lots of TLC. The restroom door wouldn’t close, was nasty & obviously hadn’t had the tank emptied & cleaned before the trip. And, as far as we know, the tank wasn’t scheduled for cleaning at all. The smell was so bad, at times, that it burned our eyes. The bus wasn’t cleaned out on this trip, either. There were roaches on the bus. Shades wouldn’t stay down when needed. The driver sat on/in the luggage storage & tried to pull luggage in. Obviously she wasn’t physically able to do the job. After getting 1 or 2 pieces in the storage, the guys that were on this trip started helping her. After this first day, the guys had to load & unload all luggage. She drove in the left lane almost the entire trip. When a vehicle would pass, in the right lane, & move back into the left lane to pass another vehicle, she would honk the horn. When I say that she honked the horn, I mean that she honked it often. Not an enjoyable bus ride. We will not be traveling with DT again. Not an enjoyable trip! Jerry & Theresa Smith
Diamond placed us in a hotel very nice on the north side of Cincinnati, that required us to go through rush hour traffic three times to get to the Ark, Creation Museum and the Aquarian, which were in Kentucky or down town Cinncinati. What a waste of our time of our time ! The Hyatt where we stayed in Mason had been bought out and instead of the hot breakfasts we paid for we had fruit, bagels and cereal. Not right. Our driver refueled the bus during our daily trips forcing us off the bus and further wasting our time. She should have fueled up before we boarded or after dropping us at the hotel in the evening. German Cochroaches are on board our bus! Restroom stinks like crazy. Has not been dumped in 4 days. We had to seal off the toilet to help with the smell.
Went to the creation museum and the Ark encounter. However the restaurants that diamond had chosen for us to eat at could have been better. The German restaurant needs to be taken off places to eat. All meals had to be placed ahead of time with maybe 4 choices. I had the roasted chicken which was a bowl full of noodles with Alfredo sauce. Had to hunt for the chicken. Our waitress was awful. Several people in our group asked for lemons and was told they didn't have any. We finally got a waitress from another group and she said the did have lemons and brought some to our table. The O'Charleys they had for us to eat at in Mason, Ohio was a joke. Several people order again food had to be preorder with maybe 4 choices fried catfish. They received 3 little and I mean little fish nuggets and a half of orders of fries.if you wanted bread you had to pay for it because diamond tours wouldn't enclude bread. Salad was very small. I would have liked to order what I wanted with my sides and have it fixed my way instead of them giving you what they wanted.
I have been on several Diamond Tours trips, I look forward to our yearly trip. But This years tri to Boston was the pits. The restaurants were substandard. The hotels wee dirty. Every evening when e got in we would have to go back down to the lobby to get clean towels. The African America museum was a joke ran by white people. I Have older Black artifacts in my basement. This is a tri I would not advise you to put your money on. Diamond Tours is getting shaky.
I was recently on a Diamond Tours group tour from Michigan to Maine. These are in no way deluxe tours. Our first bus had brakes that squealed and shook when moving. Our 2nd bus send to replace it after 2 windows were shattered in an accident had no working air conditioning and a motor that over heated.
Shows and things we did. I have been on 4 trips with this company.
I am taking my 1st trip with Diamond Tours in 2weeks, so far they have been very professional and accommodating. No pictures yet
I recently lead a Diamond Tours Group to Cape Cod, MA JUNE 20-25. The entire trip was planned perfectly. The in route motel in Milford, CT was very accommodating, They made our stay very pleasant and met all our needs. The return trip as well. Our stay in South Yarmouth, MA was also pleasant as well. The only problem was they were renovating the facilities. Their breakfast was beyond OUTSTANDING. They had everything that one could want. Our tours included: Plymouth, MA, Martha's Vineyard, Provincetown, MA, and a tour of the Cape it self showing homes and historic sites. Our last day was spent sightseeing Hyannis and the JFK Museum. Great trip!!!!! I definitely would recommend this trip. BOB PAUL TRIP LEADER ROCKINGHAM COUNTY, VIRGINIA PARKS AND REC
