My young daughter had a very traumatic experience with dr Potgieter. Dr Potgieter performed a procedure on her and kept on insisting that her severe pain and excessive bleeding following the procedure were normal despite several calls and requests from my daughter to her rooms to see the dr for a follow-up. Two weeks after the severe symptoms persisted, my daughter ended up in ER with an emergency operation to fix the problem. This could have been prevented by firstly checking the pap smear tests to determine if the procedure was really necessary, secondly to work thoroughly during the procedure and thirdly to take patients seriously when they complain about severe pain and bleeding. This was a very traumatic experience for a young girl which could have been prevented should the doctor have acted more professionally.
Since I was not happy with the Gynae who assisted me with my now 8 year old daughter and I didn’t want to return, I struggled to find a new Gynae after such a long time. I eventually found Janine on Google and after having spoken to the friendliest receptionist, Louise, I was happy to know they would assist me. Janine knows how to make her patients feel at ease, explains everything in detail, and it was always a pleasure going to visits. She took great care of me while I had pregnancy diabetes and safely delivered my now 8month old boy. Thank you to you and Louise for your professionalism, kindness, friendly faces and always listening ear! We will be visiting soon again!
A review from the husband: My wife and I had been trying for two years to become pregnant and at the end of last year, we got the good news. Looking for a Gynaecologist in Pretoria east we found Dr Janine Potgieter on Google and as always we wanted to make sure she was a good doctor. We read the reviews and tried to ascertain as much info as no one referred us and we didn’t know anyone personally who could give us the nod of approval. That said we are super happy we found Dr Janine. She is a considerate and passionate medical professional and she knows what she is talking about, a VERY good Gynaecologist. We enjoy her candidness and value her humility but most of all her honestly. She is very professional and makes things clear and understandable. We had early pregnancy complications but Dr Janine helped us through it with the utmost care and compassion, it was truly a difficult experience and she did make the process better and bearable. Now almost a whole 5 months later we are back and happy to have her as our Gynaecologist. We would highly recommend her. I can honestly say that even though our first pregnancy was short-lived and the process seems so daunting now, she took it upon herself to give us peace of mind and ease our fears. We look forward to seeing her and going through this process again.
Was not a great fit for us. I went to Janine last year and moved Doctors at 25 weeks. With some visits we did not even get to sit down. From reception to sonar and out the door you go. Most of our appointments she mostly talked about herself and her children. She was very rude to my husband and would cuss during appointments or complain about other patients - which I find highly unprofessional. She was late to all our appointments. She has good reviews and a lot of people like her. But she was definitely not a good fit for us.
The first time I went to Dr Potgieter's practice I was warmly welcomed by Erika and Louise, two beautiful souls. They always made me feel at home. Dr Potgieter is so friendly and easy going. I must say I love how you ladies always looked beautiful and elegant, it made me also want to look my best for my appointments. I always looked forward to my appointments to see my little princess and of course have a lovely chat with Dr Janine. Having to give birth during a pandemic was nerve wrecking and filled with so many uncertainties but she was always relaxed and assured me that everything will go well. My delivery went so smoothly. Thank you Dr Potgieter, this job is definitely a calling for you. I love the pink palace and will keep coming back for check ups and to say hi when i go to my baby's check ups.I will definitely refer anyone who is looking for the best Gynaecologist and Obstetrician in Pretoria East. Over the years my husband and I have enjoyed our visits at Dr Janine Potgieters practice. It is always a pleasant experience. Louise is friendly and sincere, you don't feel like a number. Dr J will be delivering our 3rd baby this July. She is someone you can rely on to take charge of any situation when it comes to the health and safety of yourself and your little one. We have the utmost faith and trust in her.
Dr Potgieter is the BEST!!! She is always friendly, and helpfull. No matter when or what time you call her with even the smallest concern, she is always prepared to help. She is really good at her job and I would recommend her to anyone, anytime. Not being pregnant anymore I miss going to the rooms. Thank you Dr for always making me feel comfortable and at home, and for sharing your knowledge and always doing what is best for your patients. Louise the receptionist is also so friendly and always ready to help and go out of her way to accommodate the patients. Thank you Louise for always being friendly and helpfull.
Dr. Janine is incredible. Not only does she take great care of me and the health of my unborn baby, but she is also lovely to speak with at every appointment. She is hilarious with an insane sense of humor and that puts me at ease each time. She doesn't feel like a doctor, more like a great friend. It’s rare to find a doctor that combines such personal touches and care for a patient as a person with outstanding quality of medical care. I highly recommend becoming her patient!
I was referred to Janine by two different friends when I was pregnant with my first child and she exceeded my expectations. I am currently pregnant with my second child and I am so happy to be her patient once again. She makes me and my husband feel so welcome, comfortable and important during each and every visit. She has so much knowledge and experience and really explains everything in so much detail which eases any concerns I might have. She is honest especially when it comes to your well being and communicates well, I never leave her rooms feeling uncertain about anything. She is clearly very passionate about what she does and I look forward to our visits every time.
Will I recommend Dr Janine Potgieter? Definitely!!! All 3 my babies where delivered safely in to this world and for that I can say Thank you very much. Dr Potgieter does what she does best, being a doctor. Giving advice and made sure through all my pregnancies I was informed and at ease that all will go well. Also Louise, as the entrance face of Dr Potgieter's Practice. Thank you for always making it a pleasant visit. Absolute friendly service! Thank you Dr Potgieter.
