Duram Smart Paint

Two issues here: 1 Two of our residential properties were simultaneously painted about two years ago. At the beginning of this year the paint started delaminating from the walls on both properties used externally. 2 Bad service delivery overall. Dealt with a gentleman by the name of Riaan in their technical department. Since 12 May I am still waiting for a technician to come to the second property to do an assessment. Duram doesn't adhere to it's guarantee policy and makes all sorts of excuses not to take any responsibility. I have also received feedback from other contractors in industry that their paint tends to delaminate very easily. We no longer purchase any of their products for any of our projects

Absolutely the worst paint brand hands down, pre mixed colours that don't match, paint that goes 'off'. I've had the rep out and got refunded for some of out but I've probably had to throw away about R6k in paint. I made the mistake of painting my roof with it and now just over 2 years later in needs painting again. What makes it worse is you basically get jumped by their reps at Builders and then they feel the need to argue. No it's not how I store it, or how I mix it as the only issues I have is with Duram all the other brand I have bought have been fine.

Stay away, Bad paint & Bad service after less than a year the colour washed lighter all walls have white lines and patches. We went to the hardware where we bought the paint and they sent out Durum consultant for a site inspection.William promised to resolve the issue after several attempts to follow up on the outcome Durum finally decided to replace the paint after 8 months of back and forth and we still waiting on the replacement paint till today 24 April 2023

We paint our wall 3 years 7 months ago with the dark grey-tinted blue colour apparently I did some white stencil. But loving it until today. Quality lasts as well

I Bought Duram paints at first when I first refurbished my upper level of my house. I was lucky enough to meet up with the sales rep who gave me great advice on choice and colour of paints. It workerd out beautiful. Great product and great service. Will never invest in another product again.

Since initial posting, the roof paint is accelerating in it's deterioration... according to the Duram paint specialist, this was due to the "reputable" registered paint contractor Paul cutting corners A - dilluting the 8 year warranty paint, B - applying too little paint ...

Good morning we have painted our house using Armatec. While I understand we have had a lot of rain the paint is bubbling on sections of the wall. We have used the necessary waterproof primer and now are desperate for help. Armatec is very expensive and comes with an eight year guarantee. Spoke with the Duram rep for the platterkloof glen area. This man was so rude and did not allow me to finish my question before answering and not even listening to me. This company needs to give their staff proper client services training. Actually beater to replace this person with someone more professional. This person is doing damage to the company’s reputation.

Bought DTM - 1st coated directly as prescribed with multiple coats with the waiting times and application method, but I used std. thinners for thinning of paint of final coat should have use Xylene. product scratched off easily. Durum Rep. came to replace product, Well done on 1st attempt. - Gave me paint stripper to remove paint waist of time and ineffective - Took metal for sand blasting at my cost to give an even better key from the abraded and cleaned new metal surface for my initial preparation - Used Durum NS 5 etch primer 2 coats - 2 Coats brushed on and let cure for 2 weeks - Abraded surface 3 strokes of 220 grit and the etch primer was showing through, the paint was not very scratch resistant - Sprayed 2 coats with Xylene as thinners approved by Rep. - Waited for curing then had to used a plastic faced clamp to install steel - after installation all layer of paint separated from primer product failure Maybe you can question some of the timing waiting 2 weeks before final coat but this product should adhere to itself with proper prep. and then not remove previous layers when place under mild stress. I have extensive experience with paints and try to follow Manufacturers instructions strictly for best chance for desired results. Buyer beware only decorative!!! NO FURTHER CORRESPONDENCE FROM DURAM after I attempted contact for feedback a couple of times.
