What is a Community Policing Forum?
A Community Policing Forum (CPF) means a forum established in terms of section 19(1) of the SAPS Act 68 of 1995. A CPF is a group of people from different communities and police representatives who meet to discuss safety problems in their communities. A CPF also aims at ensuring police accountability, transparency and effectiveness in the community.

Community-based Organizations
Community Safety- and Victim Support Structures in the Area
Community Police Forum objectives according to Sec 18 of SAPS Act, 1995 (Act No 68 of 1995):
Establish and maintaining a partnership between the community and the SAPS.
Promoting communication between the community and the SAPS.
Promoting co-operation between the community and the SAPS in fulfilling the needs of the community regarding policing.
Improving the rendering of police services to the community at national, provincial, area and local levels improving transparency in the SAPS and accountability by the SAPS and the community.
Promoting joint problem identification and problem-solving by the SAPS and the community.
