Kuils River Traffic Department is very efficient. Thank you to the staff for the great service. You made me realise that not all public services in South Africa are of poor quality. You were effective, efficient and every person knew exactly what was expected and made sure that they played there part in this well oiled machine to perfection.
Friendliest and most professional service I have ever experienced. They even opened the gate for me when they were closing and it took less than 30min to get everything done for my driver's license renewal. Those who complain about the phone not being answered..the reason is they are inundated with work. The best way to get help is to go in and you will be assisted with a smile. The lady who does the ID photos also a ray of sunshine and was a breeze to get my pics done. A big thank you to everyone who makes it easy and a pleasure to renew our licenses.
The department used to be tops and one of the best in friendliness and service,but any good system can be corrupted by poor management, the staff helps you almost if they are doing you a huge favour, it's only a handful of staff who still helps you with politeness and gives you that welcome and kindness,but from the gate to counter it's like they there to do you a favour and not that it's their bread and butter,they even don't stick to office hours,they close before the time,it wasn't even closing time and they send me back to come back the next day just to ask what I need to make a appointment, I was forced to take the number and call from outside in just to ask a question because it was almost closing time,as I said good places,wrong attitude people in right positions,and big thumbs up for the little assisting and friendly staff left who isn't colour conscious
Closed during loadshedding,waiting time of 20-30 minutes after loadshedding for systems or machines to reboot. Close an hour before loadshedding. Look at ways to work smarter: completion of documents & photocopies can be done while people are in queue outside for eg., get inverters or generators.
I am very pleased with the service. When I asked for a chair, the lady in charge invited me in to sit inside. Thank you for your good service
Got there and was helped in the next 5 mins,the lady at the photo booth is such a sweetheart and has been there for years,looking at R80 for 4 ID photos ...service is fast and staff is friendly...the roads need to be repaired in that area as there is alot of potholes so drive carefully... overall experience was good

Service is extremely slow at this department. Not a very good experience. Coming early does not make much of a difference either. Brackenfell traffic department is much more efficient and just 10minutes away.
They have a system in place to deal with their high volumes, but it meant that I had to wait outside for about an hour in the shade while they processed the people a bit at a time. This was understandable as the office is small. Note that they stop allowing people in, for certain transactions, an hour and a half or so before they close. This is dependent on how busy they are. Staff were friendly and helpful. Consistently good service. Staff genuinely try to help.
The officials at KuilsRiver traffic department are professional and the service is amazing. I went for renewal of my drivers licence at 8h30 and 9h30 I was done.Thank you.
