Edgars Red Square

Just okay Edgars like any other. Very thin offering. No luggage section, no home section. Really could do more to stock up on merchandise.

Pity I can't select zero stars! According to the CPA law if there is an error in the price, the supplier cannot insist that the consumer pay a higher price for the goods or services than the one they display. If more than one price is displayed, the consumer is not required to pay the higher of the two prices displayed. On 2 Sep 20 I rushed to Matlosana Mall Edgar's during my lunch hour as a friend had told me she saw the bag I wanted on sale and that there were only 2 left. Indeed when I arrived the bag was R145 and hung on the R250 and less sale rail. I grabbed the bag and went to the cashiers. She scanned the bag and then said I should wait a bit she was coming back. She left the till and went to the section with the bags and I could hear her speaking to someone there but in another language so could not understand then she said the bag is scanning at R450 which means that "someone" put the R145 red sticker on so I said so why is it hung on the R250 less rail she did not answer me but instead called the till supervisor. She explained the price difference to her and she said to me ma'am the bag is R450 and I said but that's not what is on the bag nor the rail it was hung on she also did not respond instead called the store manager. He arrived greeted and the cashier also proceeded to explain the price difference, he too said I should wait he was coming back so I decided to follow him and showed him where the bag was hanging which the woman working in that department also confirmed. When he asked her why the bag had a R145 sale sticker she merely shook her head so I proceeded to walk back to the till with the manager behind me. I got to the till and the manager walked to another cashier without even now acknowledging me so I stood for a few seconds and asked the cashier what was now happening and she said please wait ma'am the manager will do something about it, she eventually called him and he came and said the bag is R450 take it or leave it in a rude nonchalant way. He did not acknowledge any error or offer any apology or offer an discount as per price on the bag. I proceeded to take pictures of both the handbag price and where it was hung and left the store as I was not willing to pay R450 for it which is why I waited for the price to drop. This is outright deceptive advertising and against what CPA stipulates. I still want the handbag at the price it was marked. Please correct this! I wasted my te and effort running after something advertised at R145 only to find it scanning at a different one and still have to deal with the store managers bad attitude.

I love our local Edgars. I just wish they could stock a bigger variety of cosmetics in store so we don't have to order online.

The things online are not available in this store such as benefit make up items, Mac products.In addition there is no jo borkett mango,steve madden ? Nothing to appeal to the 27- 35 age bracket it's all young or old.

Worst worst service ever! The queue is forever long and there is only two tills open. The shop isn't even that busy. Not willing to assist at all!! Really sad I cannot select zero stars.

The service is very poor. I can not believe that in Christmas time there is only ONE cashier in the whole store. Absolutely unexceptable.

Had problems with their customer service....

Always read the fine print on the specials. You only get a slip after you’ve paid then it’s too late...

I think they service are pathetic, they give you a voucher when you want to use it, the till can't take it, stand and wait for one and a half hour to wait for auth, no thank you not even a free sample, pathetic

I've managed to get everything that I wanted for my kids in one store .....snickers, shorts....to pj's
