Emfuleni River Lodge and Cafe

We had our company function here and it was amazing!!! The food was wonderful, the staff friendly and helpful and the kept us entertained with their "toys" in the afternoon. All this, along with the sundowner boat ride on the river, made for an exceptional experience

Location was fenomenal, if you have the opportunity to choose a river side room, the sunsets are breathtaking as well as the well groomed gardens of the hotel. Really friendly staff, and very comfortable rooms! Really nice stay, I will be back!!Rooms: 5/5

The hotel is located between the Vaal River and some residential homes. Beautiful gardens and pool. The male bathrooms on ground floor/reception area needs some upgrading. Rooms were excellent in all respects. People/staff were very helpful and welcoming.

Great hotel and great service from all staff. Execellent food for breakfast and dinner. The entertainment team was good keeping the kids occupied. The rooms are nice and spacious with good cupboard space and fridge cooler. Unfortunately our river view blocked by alot of trees. The bathrooms are modern with a shower only. The shelf in the shower is too high for kids and short adults to put there shampoo and soap on so the floor is the only place to put there's items. There's no washing line in the shower to drip out swimwear like other hotels. There's no wifi signal by pool and river which was annoying.

My family and I stayed here for a week over Christmas 2022. The place was fantastic. Staff were ever friendly and genuinely willing to assist. I loved the breakfasts and the kids loved the pool entertainment. I can definitely highly recommend it.Rooms: 5/5

Didn’t have a great experience here. The WiFi was unacceptably unreliable. This was particularly problematic because we were at the hotel for a hybrid conference. So there were sessions that were unceremoniously cut short because our the internet cut out and we couldn’t connect to panelists online. In the morning, around 6am, the WiFi also doesn’t work. Then we were having sound and other technology technical issues with the hotel equipment. The staff literally said “We can’t help you”. I know it’s not funny but . The food is not terrible but it wasn’t great either. The staff wouldn’t allow me to take food to my room. They said I would cause ants. The toilets in the conferencing area have the smallest stalls I have ever been in my life . I don’t know how big people use those things . The hotel is close to the highway so my nerves were always shot because of the highway noise. But otherwise the hotel is very clean. The bedding is very clean. And their conferencing facilities are also very clean. They also seem to be quite punctual. Nothing was running behind schedule.

Wonderful venue for a corporate event. Conference venue was large enough for a good 100 people. The tea time catering offered fresh options of muffins, pastries, fresh fruits, teas and coffee. Although, if you’re a coffee junky, you’d be better off ordering a cappuccino from the bar instead of having the instant coffee. The bars were sufficiently stocked to keep a large crowd topped up. The staff, from the reception to the chefs and cleaning staff, were exemplary. Helpful with a smile. Accommodations were neat, clean with adequate lighting. The only exception was the old school aircon in my room, although it did the job. Small details like an iron & ironing board were new and clean. Cherry on top were the ease of access to the Vaal River boat rides and relaxing pool sides.

The rooms are decent. Hotel is located in a beautiful location. The service is terrible. I was attending a conference and we ran late on the last day, we asked the chef to accommodate us with a take away lunch as we had to rush to the airport. The chef refused for us to have an earlier lunch or to even get a take away. Terrible service that I have never experienced at any hotel I have stayed in before

Service was non-existent. Food and beverages manager Jacobwas on site but apparently not in control of food and beverages. We asked to see he him twice, with no luck until we went to reception and asked personally. We had driven to the hotel for a milkshake specifically but could not be served as there were no ice cream ??????? on a hot summers day What was served to other patrons was a VERY SLOW INEFFICIENT service by lacklustre waiters an supervisors. Not reccomended as a place to waste your time or money at. Food & drinks: Poor

I haven't been here but my husband was there for on business trip and he enjoyed himself and enjoyed the stay especially by the pool, cleaning and foodRooms: 3/5
