Ethekwini Water & Sanitation Private Parking

I called in that the water meter had burst at my property at 1.17pm. Posting this it's now 16.53pm. All the water is running down the road at a fast speed going to waste when people need it. Spent 31 minutes to follow up my ref.... no answer. Service is pathetic and a waste on taxpayers money.

Went to main building, got told to turn left at entrance as it’s in the same building with another entrance but her hand gestures turn right luckily I can read! Entered customer service and information desk as to be sure to join the correct queue. Sent me to counter 12 which is plan submission when I mentioned water metre issues. Only found out when I got to the counter, got told to join other queue even information didn’t know what’s going on here welcome to South African service, be prepared to wait and lose a day or days leave if you work. Your leave is not for your holidays or time off, it’s for the government administration. Staff don’t seem to be happy to be there to assist us either ‍

Does anybody even work at the Ethekwini Municipality....People from other countries are laughing at the pathetic service we get. Been trying to call them for days and no response. Water been cut off due to an error on the Municipalities part and was informed it would be restored within 2 hours from first contact. Three days later still not restored. Emails and visits were made but still no action after making promises. This goes against the basic human rights needs as it effects thousands of people. I had to give a 1 star in order to post this comment, else there wouldve been a zero star rating.

I have been working for the municipality for the past 12 years and I applied for 1 job for over 8 times and I have over 12 years of experience in that job and you know what they told me that I can't get the job cause of demographics and the colour of my skin but they promoted the cleaner yet Inam an artisan and the clean has been working for only 5 years at the municipality never did the job that she got promoted for be prepared to be drinking sewer water time to come

I've been trying to call all day but the number keeps saying "It's currently unavailable". It's a holiday tomorrow I'm not even sure if they will be open or not. I'm very disappointed

Horrid service delivery. Can't even report a problem. Can't get through your lines.

From last night no water, tried calling no answer. Tanker hasn't even come to give water. Ridiculous!!!

To keep my eyes looking in this pictures is what always hurt me most. may be i should dead by now if i was inside the room by time this water tank fallen into my house

What a pathetic department, been trying for 4 days to get through and no one even answers the phone. Incompetent and a sad state of affairs

What gives any of the municipality workers a right to withold water from us? How dare each and every one of you? You have a problem with your salaries but do things like this? You can't even be trusted with the little you have but you want more? You should feel ashamed to even call yourselves public servants as you only care about serving yourself. We still have to go to work like this and continue on because we appreciate the salaries we get. Some people have studied and have been praying for an opportunity to work at the municipality and be given a chance to create change but here you are disputing overtime and what not. Sies. And then lets not talk about the fact that there is a talent show taking place at the OCC which the municipality is hosting but many many areas in Durban are without water.
