False Bay is located approximately 50 km ( 31 miles ) to the South - East of the City of Cape Town and is approximately in places 30 miles long and 35 miles wide.
Recreational boat angling in False Bay is a popular past time thanks to the protection the bay provides against the big seas and the variety of game fish and bottom fish the bay provides.
The bay provides for good fishing all year round with the most common species being yellowtail (yellowtail amberjack), kabeljou( Kob), Cape Salmon ( Geelbek) , elf and snoek, with the bottom-feeding redfish
also occurring regularly.
False bay is famous for summer catches of yellowfin and longfinTuna. At certain times of the year, the Cape snoek shoals in the bay and big catches averaging 10 per person (recreational) and 100 per person ( commercial) are caught daily . This is a barracuda-like fish with a vicious set of teeth, and is a popular recreational and commercial catch. Averaging 5 to 9 lb and growing to 20 lb, the Snoek offers excellent sport on light tackle. West Coast Roack Lobster which is and international delicay, is plentiful in False Bay and can only be caught in season ( Jan- April ) .
The bay is serviced by two excellent harbours, Gordon's Bay on the eastern side and Simonstown on the western side.

We have two vessels which we operate from one being a 30 foot ButtCat and the other an 18ft equinox.
Both vessels are renowned for thier stability and comfort.
