Fordoun Hotel, Spa & Restaurant

The place is nestled away in a calm serene environment. A lovely getaway from the hustle of the city. The food was delightful and the service excellent. I however feel that the room was very old in style and age. It definitely is due for an upgrade. I felt the same way about the Spa. It's beautiful but due foe that upgrade!

My mom and I spent the afternoon at the day spa having a couple of treatments and were very impressed. The standard of the treatments was excellent, the spa and the treatment rooms are lovely and the staff are very welcoming and professional. I would highly recommend it.

Stunning avenue and Bistro. Really great hospitality from everyone you come into contact with. Awesome and reasonable pricing at the Spa and great venue for a wedding. Will definitely be back.

we have always enjoyed our stay whenever we visit the Fordoun Hotel & Spa over the years. our stay over the weekend of 13, 14 15 January 2023 was certainly a little more rewarding: we had experienced a mis-hap while on the road not so far from the hotel when we hit a pot hole. the tyre was damaged beyond repair. not only did we have the pleasure of meeting the owner, Richard, who, after hearing our plight, offered his on-site bakkie for our use, but we also had the kind and helpful manager Murray, who assisted us with collecting a spare tyre and putting us in touch with a super guy Steve from Hi-Q. all of of this just tells me that there are wonderful people out their who are prepared to go beyond their normal duties to help others. thank you Richard, Murray, and Steve. The drive down to the venue is amazing with the avenue of trees and cows watching you as you pass by. The property is serenity at its best whilst the staff are so friendly and helpful and willing to go the extra mileLocation: 5/5

2nd time there. Love the care, attention to detail , friendliness and warmth of the staff. We had a problem with a damaged tyre on a pothole and the manager and owner were extremely helpful with providing options to repair as well as assisted with transport to sort out the Tyre. Beware of the potholes on Nottingham Road, but the place and spa is the best in the area.

Gosh What an amazing Midlands retreat! our wedding couple were absolutely spoilt during their stay here and while celebrating their wedding day.

We had a lovely meal at the restaurant, although we were not booked-in guests. The restaurant had a peaceful ambience, even though it was full to near-capacity. Service was a bit slow, but I suspect we were still on Jozi time and hadn't quite acclimatized to the more gentle pace of the KZN Midlands! Fordoun's home-made bread alone will make it worth the trip: be ready to 'up' your daily step count to balance out some carb overindulgence...
