Fund Your Passion is a crowdfunding platform created to empower athletes to fund their quest to achieve their sport dreams and aspirations.
EMPOWERING ATHLETES AND TEAMS TO FUND THEIR PASSIONS, THROUGH CROWDFUNDING.
South African athletes pursuing their dreams, now have a dedicated way to gain access to much-needed funding support using a crowdfunding initiative called FUND YOUR PASSION.
While the initial focus is on cycling, the platform provides for multiple sport discipline campaigns to be created. Individuals and businesses can support and make secure contributions, using their debit, credit or Bitcoin accounts, as well as via EFT. The financial support received for a specific campaign, goes directly to the campaigner.
Athletes, teams, schools and clubs are invited to load their fundraising campaigns and to start actively empowering themselves to fund their passions, and achievements. Individual product providers can also get involved to assist athletes crowdfunding for equipment and accessories too.
Campaigns are free to load until 31 December 2017, thereafter a planned registration fee of R150 will be charged to register and to create a campaign. 15% (fifteen percent) of the funds raised, less any banking transaction fees are retained, to cover the costs associated with the platform development, administration and marketing costs. It is expected that this % could be reduced over time as the initiative reaches some economies of scale.
