Description

Gariep Lodge offers a comfortable stop-over en-route to Namibia, Kgalagadi or to the rest of the Cape Province. We are situated near the Orange River with lovely shaded trees, a garden to enjoy and safe parking. Breakfasts are served and other meals are available on request. For those who prefer self-catering there are barbecue facilities and a kitchen to use.

Each room is fully equipped with:

Bathroom
Air-conditioning (warm & cold)
TV with DSTV
Electric blankets
Tray with coffee and tea
etc...
We also have camping facilities with electricity.

Gariep Country Lodge offers you:

Avoid, avoid, avoid. Noisy the whole day and night. We camped here because it's the only campsite in Prieska. Unfortunate this place draws local crowds of unruly drunks. Drunks walking right into our campsite and looking into our camper while we're trying to sleep. I phoned the owner at 23h30 to complain. This property is also way too small for the volume of people it can accommodate. If you're overlanding avoid this place and Prieska. Worse campsite ever in our books. I post photos of the campsite and parking lot. One and the same place. -1 would be a compliment with this place
Clean cosy room and bathroom with curtains that did not let in the sun. The bed was very comfortable and I slept very well. I had a good breakfast. I think it was very good value for money.Rooms: 5/5
Aircons is not working well. It goes on and off and remains off for 30min thus room is not getting warm. It not loadshedding.Rooms: 2/5

I felt at home. The rooms are clean and they are cleaned everyday. There is lots of grass and a swimming pool for the hot Prieska days. The staff are friendly and very helpfull.
Terrible stay. Bedding stained. Towels full of holes. Bathroom ceiling pitch black of mould. No shower gel, etc. I could write my name in the dust on top of the kettle. I cannot give this place any rating or recommendations. Really bad.Rooms: 1/5

Arrived after a 7hr drive only to be told by the owner that he had made a mistake and there was no room as he had booked out to Contractors working locally. He then organized another place to stay but said we must pay and he would pay that owner Forgot to tell us that the other place was half his rate....saw through this and canceled his stay with AirBB and paid the second place independently. I will avoid this place at all costs in future
Beautiful small camping place. The sites are all on thick grass. The facilities adequate and in excellent condition. The owner and staff friendly and helpful. We have enjoyed our 2 nights camping there. Will recommend. They also have a challenging Park Run course in Prieska.
Will not recommend this place. We asked for a family room, we got one double bed and one single bed in the same room. It was only a room with a bathroom. Not much to do if you book in early. Then supper was the best disappointment ever. We had to place an order when we booked in. We were told it will be ready at 18:00, we had to pre-order our drinks also. At 20:00 our food arrived- it was ordered from somewhere els, it was rapped in plastic and cold. Our drinks was bought from a cafe . Our meal was not even tasty and totally over charged. We book our stay on our way to Namibia and back. On our way back we canceled our stay because we disliked it so much.
