Using the power of soccer to educate, inspire and mobilise young people to tackle their pressing health challenges, HIV and gender-based violence.
Grassroot Soccer (GRS) uses the power of soccer to engage youth in high quality, evidence-based life skills and HIV prevention programming across South Africa. Through a series of interactive activities and discussions, young people gain a comprehensive knowledge of sexual and reproductive health and rights, violence prevention and HIV, and learn the skills necessary for healthy decision making.
Mission: Grassroot Soccer uses the power of soccer to educate, inspire, and mobilise communities to stop the spread of HIV.
Vision: A world mobilised through soccer to create an AIDS free generation.
Strategy: To achieve our mission, we continuously improve our innovative HIV prevention and life-skills curriculum, share our program and concept effectively, and utilise the popularity of soccer to increase our impact.
