My aunt broke her leg in Nov 2021,got admitted at Grey Hospital,stayed there for 2 mnths with her leg bandaged & nothing happening,in Jan she was told they are gonna transfer her to Cecelia Makiwane for her to be operated...she was sent to Ceceila only to be told the doctor is on leave,then they put a plaster on her leg and discharged her,now she can't even put her leg down let alone walking....Went back 2 weeks ago to ask if they cannot do anything for her because she is struggling only to be told she's too old they can't operate on her the law doesn't allow them to,the only thing they can do is to give her a wheelchair which we are still waiting for even after 3 weeks.
I am very dissapointed in the level of service I received esp regarding Covid 19 results. On the 17th June I went to go test for covid. The nurse there said if i don't get an SMS within 2 days, come to hospital after 7 days. I went there on 7th day. They looked in their Covid results file,which was not even in order. Called the lab told them to fax it to the hospital only to find out their fax machine at hospital is not working. Then she told me to come back on Monday. Keep in mind Im missing now almost 2 weeks of work. Without my results I can't go back to work! Till today 29th June I have not received them. #Poor service delivery.
Poor, actually disgusting service. My mom got transferred from Grey to Bhisho they were told to wait for an Ambulance, they waited for 6 hours. We ended taking her with our own transport. Ambulances were no where to be found.
Had an emergency request to enquire at this hospital, a Lady by the name of Portia answered the phone, i introduced myself and asked who i was speaking to. She sniffed / giggled and i asked laughing along to what she was laughing at. She Blasted, Asked me what proof i had that she was laughing, I tried to apologize immediately and get to the reason of my call but she put the phone down in my ear. i called 3 times holding for 2 minutes per interval, and she never picked up. What disgusting service from a reliable hospital.
I’ve never met a more uninterested set of ‘professionals’ in my life. I went to inquire about their services concerning my condition. The person who answered barely looked at me and simply said ‘we don’t do that here - go to Bhisho Hospital’. Absolutely disgraceful. I would give zero stars if I could.
Disgustingly poor service and unintrested, probably under qualified staff. Long quees, medevil structures in place that don't really work. Its always packed, no computers, 'filing systems'. This establishment is a demonstration of just how poor service delivery is when it comes to basic healthcare service's in South Africa. I once came here when I broke my finger, waited in the quee for more than 5 hours and when I finally got to see the dispassionate doctor, she gave me pain killers and told me to come back the next day for X Rays. I was there as early as 7am and the place was packed. I went to go see a private doctors 'which is a privileged option on my part because they're expensive'. Really sad as the majority of the public that stay in and around King's neighbouring areas are impoverished and struggling to make it.
Got offered help very quickly
Something has to be done about this place.
