Hertz Rent a Car South Africa

We rented a car for the weekend and everything went smoothly. Very friendly and helpful people. We had a flat tire and they helped us so we could get back on the road again. Thanks guys!

If I could leave zero stars I would. My brother booked a car on the 6th of December only to find out on the day before leaving for Namibia, the 26th of December, that none of the cross border paperwork was done. They let him know 5 min before picking up the car that it would take 2 working days to process the paperwork. We are now scrambling to try find a car to rent from a more reliable competitor. Absolutely shocking service, i will make sure to tell everyone about our experience and will never ever use Hertz ever again.

Yesterday I booked a car through Economy Cars in Stellenbosch. I paid the requisite five odd Thousand. Both the address and the telephone given on my voucher were incorrect and today I could not find the pickup point. I went home from where I found the correct address. When I reached Hertz/Firefly I was asked to pay a further + eight thousand Rands. My bank then blocked both my Credit and Debit Cards suspecting fraud. I walked to my bank who confirmed that the +R5k paid to Economy yesterday had been already debited to my account. Therefore to collect my car I had to pay about R14,000 up front - I was to be double charged. When I remonstrated with the manageress at Hertz she very rudely told me that it had nothing to do with Hertz and I must sort it out with Economy. The nett outcome was I never got my car and someone has got my money.

We are vacationing in South Africa and were in need of a rental car. We found a rental facility in Stellenbosch and the young man behind the counter was very helpful and extremely professional while assisting us with our reservation. Great job Hertz!

I would like to commend Hertz stellenbosch on their impeccable and friendly service. The staff, especially Jaycelin were extremely helpful and went above and beyond what was expected. The unlimited kilometres feature is an unbeatable offering and I cannot recommend Hertz enough to anyone needing to rent a car in the area.

I was unable to rent a car because my license has expired beware Gauteng drivers but the lady in the shop was incredibly helpful. She offered advise on the area, suggested how I might get a temporary license and was more than willing to assist once that was sorted. Great service Hertz!

Very friendly staff and great service. Would have given it a higher star rating if the parking wasn't such an issue. Very difficult to find parking close to Hertz to collect or drop off and if you do, you have to pay for parking, even when returning a vehicle.

Hertz helped us in a time of need and were so kind, understanding and helpful. I highly recommend Hertz Stellenbosch!
