About

The Hillcrest Centre is new to The Keal Property Group's portfoilio and they have just began EXCITING big renovations to this centre

Description

The Hillcrest Centre is situated in Hillcrest KZN and is new to the Keal Property Group portfolio.

The facelift which the Keal Property Group will be doing on this centre will be a six-month project, which will modernise the façade of the 4 900m² centre and dramatically increase its visibility. The facelift will include a completely reconfigured shop layout and tenant mix. The parking will be brick paved and reorganised for more efficient traffic flow, both in front and behind the centre. New large shop fronts will be fitted, prominent entrance towers will be built, and new signage panels will be standardised to create a consistent, contemporary aesthetic.

New tenants will include exciting restaurant offerings, with the aim to create a cafe society feel, like you would find in uMhlanga or Cape Town.

Great centre but what's happened to the cafe???? When Anita was there it was amazing. Now it's not good at all and it's rumored to be getting a refit. Why? What a shame.
Mondays here is NEBULA a peer led mental health group, if you are in the Newhaven area pop along to see us room 4 from 2:00 every Monday except bank holidays. You'll never regret it
Lots of different events always friendly staff around and a lovely cafe
This place is truly one of a kind. They have a cafe and countless wonderful activities to participate in. The people who run it and work there are very special. If you haven't been before then you definitely should go. We have done numerous art courses, family games evenings etc. And always had an amazing time, feeling a part of something.
I've been to workshops here, book launches, film showings and eaten in their cafe. The venue is great, parking is easy, it has convenient links to public transport and the food is good value & delicious. The women who run the cafe are unfailingly helpful and friendly and the indoor market is great, too! I wish we had a place like this in my town.
This is the most inclusive, community centre I have ever experienced. The cafe serves a great wholesome meal with generous portions of fresh veg every Mon-Fri. at an extraordinary modest price. Decorated in warm colours with local interest hangings and pictures it is welcoming and friendly with people drifting in and out after their activities. It's a great place to bring friends along for lunch. The range of activities is astonishing - there is something for everyone from babies to centenarians, everything from art, singing, dancing, knitting, cinema, and too many more to name. I attend the Ukulele Group that meets on a Wednesday night where between 30-40 of us rock our strumming and sing with Jason our exuberant, enthusiastic leader. All are welcome, from beginners to experienced players, nobody judges. What a lovely place to have in a community, and long may it last.
It serves good healthy food in the cafe and the people there are friendly. They have a film club that shows some pretty good films and there's also a storytelling group that runs storytelling events. Oh, and most importantly the place is not pretentious.
I find the Hillcrest centre a treasure. I come to monthly meetings from the centre of Brighton. It's a joy to be able to park easily, the rooms are large and airy, and quiet, never any problem about booking, and the lunches are inexpensive and superb and the staff are very helpful. The dining room It seems to be a hub for retired people like me. The main hall is a great venue - I went to a book launch attended by hundreds of people, and there is a vibrant market there whenever I go, which is a Thursday once a month - may be more frequent. I guess it's an important resource heavily used by the townspeople of Newhaven. I love it, the atmosphere, the people - and the lunches.
I have been attending a weekly group at the Hillcrest Centre for over a year now. The facilities are clean and well maintained and the staff are lovely. The cafe serves a wide variety of home-cooked food at very reasonable prices a generous main meal for 5.50. The atmosphere is informal and I always feel welcomed.
For the past two years or more I have attended the creative writing courses held at the Hillcrest Centre. I have also attended workshops, the thursday market and private functions there. This is a valuable community facility which is warm and welcoming. The cafe there serves us excellent hot and healthy foods and nothing is too much trouble for anyone needing assistance. The hall and rooms are light with good furniture and electric points making it an ideal centre for local projects.
