Hillstar Traffic Department

Well, we made a 11 am appointment. After over an hour we were finally told that only one machine is working! Would have been good if they had at least a notice saying they are running late! Come on Eastern Cape authorities - if you can’t fix the eye-tester, how can you possibly run the municipality.

I am from Johannesburg. I tried to phone the traffic dept 10 times, yes 10 times, , even asked the switchboard to transfer me to an alternative number. I left a message on an answering machine , I sent an email, they just don't answer their phones. Is there anybody working in that department? How can I make contact with them , do I have to drive down from Johannesburg? It is the worst of the worst. Secondly, I got 2 fines, 2 minutes of driving apart. How many traffic spots can they have by law , one every 100 meters ? So they can have 10,20, 30 traffic spots just for a motorist to get through the city?

Excellent service to renew our car licence and change to EC. Was all accomplished in a matter of minutes. Staff very friendly and super efficient! If it was Randburg I would still be waiting in the queue.

I was there on 3 Jun for my license the do quickly and I never take to long and also security guard is the same They are good shem.

Renewed my license disc and did a change of address, lady was very friendly and helpful, in and out in less than 5 minutes, all sorted. If all government departments could be run by efficient personnel like these guys, this country will be rated as world class. Keep it up guys, you restored my confidence in the traffic department.
