YES!! You must stay with Mike and Laura at Muweti. Their hospitality is top notch. Guides were very knowledgeable, fun, safe, and professional. Chalets are world class. We stayed 3 nights in September and highly recommend. Had so many interactions that I’ll never forget: the top of which is elephants right outside our balcony. Wow!
What. A. Place. Forget all your commercial factoryrun lodges. Hesitant at first, but pleased once arrives: Muweti Bush Lodge is a product of love. Laura and Mike will go above and beyond, yet give you your space to enjoy in peace and quiet. Amazing pool, huge in comparison to many other lodges. The food is delicious and only surpassed by the sheer quantity! Big eaters are welcomed here! Mike is like an uncle that loves sharing his passion about wildlife, and when a lion roars during desert, he will jump up and drive you out for a quick drive. This is passion first, business second. Be warned, you might fall in love of the place!
Mike and Laura were the perfect hosts . We had the BEST time staying with them and our tented lodge with viewing platform was sublime . The food and service could not have been better . Hardus our game driver was amazing . His knowledge of the animals was incredible His owledge of the animals was inrecidable. Couldn't recommend them enough . They made our Safari to South Africa more than memorable .Nothing was too much trouble and the monkeys were so cheeky Thanks guys xxx
I had a tremendous 3 days here, seeing lions, hippos, giraffe, elephant all up close with a smashing guide. Food ace, cooked on open fire. Super cabin style room. Peace and solitude. Very special place. Rooms: Cabin style, but all mod cons even aircon! Nearby activities: Is in middle of a game reserve Safety: Your in a game reserve........... Walkability: Not recommended, due to some pretty fearsome wildlife! Food & drinks: Fresh meats veg, all prepared to order. Limited drinks, but fair choice. Noteworthy details: If your looking for tranquility, with experience of big game, top location.
I've had the best weekend 6 May in this place. My husband and I received the warmest welcome, the host Hardus gave us five star treatment for our 9th anniversary. The staff was friendly and helpful, the place is well kept. The only advice I would give traveller's is if you are to drive to this location, you definitely need a big car because it is literally in the bushes and the gravel road is longer. On our way out we found a tree that bariccaded the road that was dragged by an Elephant and you can't get out of the car to remove the tree because there are lions and other predators in that place. Another thing is that this place is extremely hot, you will need summer clothes even if you visit there in winter. Overall my entire weekend was superb in the mist of mother natures finest. A breathtaking place.
Amazing!! We spent part of our anniversary here and from the moment we arrived it felt like an African dream! Don’t hesitate booking!! We had 2 game drives a day where we were feet away from giraffes, saw a pride of lions having breakfast, water buffalos, so many elephants, & much much more! Staying in the tented chalets also includes breakfast, lunch & dinner & each meal was amazing! You will not have to worry about going hungry here as the food is plenty & so delicious!! I absolutely loved trying so many local South African cuisines! We stayed in 3 different accommodations here, two tented chalets & the cottage. Each was beautiful and romantic. We adored the tented chalets. The view was lovely and It was amazing being so close to nature and being able to hear the animals at night! But what made us love the lodge the most were the loveliest hosts, Mike & Laura. They have the kindest hearts & treated us like family. When everything returns to normal I would love to bring our family here! My husband & I made so many beautiful memories here and I’d love to return!
We had a fabulous weekend at Muweti Bush Lodge and stayed in one of their tented chalets. What a fabulous experience it was. The accommodation was excellent and being able to spend time at your chalet and watch the game at our own little watering hole was a special treat. Mike, Laura and their excellent staff go out of their way to make you feel welcome. The food, game drives and not to mention the sightings from the main lodge all add up to an incredible time away.
The lodge is in a far corner of the reserve in a bushy area but not too difficult to find. The accommodation was reasonably comfortable and well equipped and would be good for families although the plunge pool was average. The views were into some bush so not much to see there. The lack of privacy and constantly being watched was uncomfortable for me. If you do book here go through a booking site which is waaay cheaper than through the lodge direct.
We had the most fantastic stay at Muweti and couldn’t recommend it more. The lodge is absolutely beautiful and a lovely place to relax in the day between game drives. Mike and Gustav’s knowledge and expertise on our drives was brilliant and we saw an amazing collection of animals. A must visit!
Family of 4 staying in the self-catering cottage. Fantastic value. The house two bedrooms one with 2 single beds, and one with a queen 4 post bed. Both have en suite bathrooms with showers and aircon. Lounge has DSTV and wifi. Outside patio and pit braai wood and equipment provided with lovely solar lights provide a wonderful ambiance as you listen to the sounds of the bush we heard jackal, lion and hyena. The plunge pool was fantastic for cooling off in the heat of the day. We had a fantastic game drive and got very close to lion and elephant with sundowners overlooking the Olifants River. The ranger was friendly and knowledgeable. There are plenty of animals in the bush. This is in the Greater Kruger, with big 5 walking past the fence, no walking around, and not suitable for small kids. The house is connected to the rangers house next door, which means you don't get much privacy with the plunge pool. The kitchen is connected to the room with single beds which could make it a little difficult in the evenings.
