Although convenience of sometimes fresh baked goods but the inconvenience of having cash on hand to purchase in a time of the cashless, tap to pay era. Ensure to check change and that correctly charged for items purchased. Staff are extremely unfriendly and outright rude with service delivery. Packers tend to smash baked items when packing and become agro when made aware.

This a corner bakery, neighborhood store, you get to know what items are great what times to go and get things fresh and which items nicer than others. You get to know the people by name and their nature because it's your neighborhood store. This is not a franchise store or corporate offering with an ingrained customer service model etc.. Go elsewhere if you want that. they don't do cards unless you buying for a large amount, that's their way accept it. Small family business, Like some stores charge card fees on smaller items. Good food and good taste if you know you know.

This little Gem of a bakery is hidden away in overport. Those of us who were lucky enough to find the place can enjoy the delicious sweet treats. Cakes are always fresh and delicious. The best freshest doughnuts. Love the puff pastry. The koeksisters are mouth wateringly delicious. The melting moments are to die for. We just love all their cakes and pastries. Faruk the baker and the owner is so talented and always willing to assist on the days specials. Im happy to pay the price for delicious freshly baked treats.

The products are good and fresh. Had a few experiences where they don't accept bank cards for payments. This will drive customers away. I think they need to consider this seriously. No one carries cash .

Simply love the baking here. I have not made Naan katahi for Diwali for the past 20 yrs now Bcos they make it the best!!! I order mine from Issys!!! Among the 4 of us in my family, favorites are: Naan katahi, coconut tarts, fresh cream donuts, cream puffs, eggless sconesthe best!, cook sisters, Naan best ever compared to any other place we ate from, Naan rolls, chocolate éclairs, palmiers, sponge cake in squares and, not forgetting the freshly baked breads!!! The warmth n friendliness of Farida n Farouk is something else too.

The snowballs and koeksisters are mostly good, the customer service is shocking. It's definitely an experience, and there's no prices on anything so you find out how much everything is at the till!

The service from the lady behind the counter is absolutely pathetic. Firstly she did not want to accept me paying with card coz my order was R80. She then tells me to take something else to make it R100 then she will see if she can accept Card. I refused as I didn't want anything else. I told her I was in a rush to get to a function as well. Then she said oh next time we must carry cash else she won't serve us. She then proceeded to serve 4 other people before actually accepting the card payment. We asked her why isn't there any notice anywhere in the shop that they don't accept card payments. Like seriously it's 2022. MANY PEOPLE DO NOT KEEP CASH. She then says that Issys is a very small store so we should know things like this before entering and they don't need to put any sign. She said next time make sure we go to an ATM to withdraw money then purchase from the store. Pathetic!!!!!
