Jimmy's Killer Prawns

The prawns were amazing. The oysters and service too. A big thumbs up we will most certainly be visiting Jimmy's more often! I'm so disappointed to see they closed:

My wife and I visited Jimmy's Prawns, Northmead Square, Benoni on 01/05/2016 at approximately 14H00. The waiter did not write our order down of fried fish and crispy chips for my wife, and fried fish, fried calamari, and crispy chips for me. We expected to wait for +/- 15 to 20 minutes for the meal to be served. After 8 minutes the meal arrived. My wife said "That was quick" The chips, although nice and brown, were soft and soggy. My wife's fish was very wet on the inside. My fish and calamari was grilled and not fried as ordered. The manager came to see if we were OK with the meal, and we told him that the chips were not crispy as ordered, and my fish and calamari was grilled and not fried. He replaced the chips, with an apology, but even these were still soft and soggy, not crispy. He did not offer to replace my wife's fish or my fish and calamari. He offered to give us a coffee on the house, but we declined. We paid our bill, and on the way out the waiter argued with us that the order was right. We have used this Jimmy's Prawns many times in the past and have noticed that the food has declined in quality, and the service has also declined. I do realize that Northmead Square is having a lot of construction work going on at the moment, buy that does not affect the food or service quality. We will not be visiting again. Rather travel a few more kms to another Jimmy' Prawns.

A bit more of a "personal touch" restaurant, with good food and friendly service without breaking the bank.
