"In the year 1488, Bartolomeu Dias discovered the great, dark continent of Africa. Upon landing on a beautiful sunny day, he declared a feast, to celebrate the great discovery. According to a ship mates diary that was discovered on a shipwreck, Bartolomeu was famous for standing up and shouting “Papa Boa” Fabulous food just before the crew were to indulge in his fabulous meals. These meals would become as legendary as the explorer himself and were enjoyed by all and sundry over the decades."

Friendly staff and relaxed environment. Food was good and portions were well worth it. The specials of the day is quite nice and their desserts are really good. They dont have a lot of vegetarian options. I ordered the veg platter, the halloumi cheese and crumbed mushrooms were so delicious. I would definitely go back to try their gin selection
Great food, brilliant value for money. . . Just very poor service from the staff. Waiters are not attentive to the requirements of the customers, no personal touch, just poor service. The manager / owner is very warm and friendly at the entrance, pity his staff fail to echo his culture towards clients.
What an amazing restaurant! The vibe, the food, the service. Impecable! It was our first time. And we absolutely LOVED it. Definitely recommend it! Value for money!!!!

Fabulous food indeed. Once again PapaBoa keep impressing with the top service and delicious Portuguese delicacies. Even a taste of real Portugese culture are to be experienced here! My mind was overwhelmed by the amount of specials they had available. Our waiter was kind and friendly, and there’s also a kids entertainment area. I’ll definitely be back!
Always a good place to go to on the East Rand Ribs are great Their Papaboa burger is awesome! Their steak special on a Thursday...yummmmmFood: 4/5
Fantastic vibe and awesome venue. Staff are great. Check out the daily specials. If You're a steak lover you will love Wednesdays and Thursdays steak specials. All the food is fantastic but the eisbein is a real treat. Plenty of parking and good security.
Everything about it was great. The day I went there was a live band and that was interesting. The staff is friendly and doesn't come to you 50 times, love that. Also there's a quietnyana spots if you don't want the noise, so also loved that. I had ribs and yep would def go there again.Food: 5/5
I previously gave it a bad rating but I have returned and I am pleased how they have lifted their game up. Service has improved and the food quality is up there where it should be. Will return hopefully to add another star and say something more positive. They don't have a buffet every Sunday only the 1st Sunday of the month.
We stopped for coffee. It was a great cuppa. Looked at the menu and decided to have breakfast. It was delicious. Had a Guiness and a coffee after our breakfast. Inside the restaurant it was like walking into Portugal or Madeira. Will definately be back for a Guiness and a Bock draught and a meal.
