I am passionate and dedicated to the wholestic wellness of women and children of all ages. I offer a safe and comfortable space for the physiotherapy treatment of a variety of conditions relating to women's health and paediatrics.
After graduating with a BSC Physiotherapy and completing my community service in 2014, I devoted myself to paediatrics as a special interest and passion. I worked briefly for a private practice seeing children with respiratory illnesses, developmental delays, and neurological impairments, followed by two years at Eros School where I provided therapy to children with an array of congenital and genetic conditions. It was during my time at Eros that I completed my Bobath-Neurodevelopmental training, and my love for working with children with Cerebral Palsy grew.
In 2016 I gave birth to my first child, which further entrenched my dedication to paediatrics, and spurred my growing enthusiasm for mother and child wellness. Becoming a mother inspired me to become a strong advocate for mothers and children, and I hope to empower women to be able to make informed choices about the healthcare of themselves and their babies. While on maternity leave in 2017, I furthered my knowledge and skills by beginning a postgraduate certification offered by the women’s health special interest group of South Africa. Thereafter I have volunteered at both Groote Schuur and Tygerberg Hospital in their Female Continence clinics. I have also recently completed my ante and post-natal Pilates certification as well as attending a breastfeeding education course to better advise mothers who seek help with breastfeeding challenges.
In the near future, I hope to complete additional modules in my women’s health postgraduate training to further expand my skills and continue the all-important work of supporting children and mothers in both pre and post-natal stages and to be able to spend more time with my own little family.
