Kismet Supply Store

I have just returned from Kismet. As always, the staff took the time to think of a practical way to help me, and sold me everything I needed at a very reasonable price. I had to come up with a solution to cover lead weights in something waterproof and easy to clean, as they are used in the bathroom for a disability aid. The solution involved PVC sheeting and cutting rubber matting that I already had, with an angle grinder and a hacksaw. In addition to really helpful staff, Kismet sells everything from washing powder to wing nuts, and if they don't have exactly what you are looking for, they will get it for you. This is old fashioned service that I have not found anywhere else.

Always a pleasure getting supplies for my home chores from Kismet Supply Store in Wynberg. And Eric on the counter just saved me hundreds of rand with his knowledge on spare parts rather than replacing a cistern flush mechanism. Thanks Eric, You’re a champ!

This store is well stocked. I have been to a few places, but I found what I was looking for at Kismet Supply Store. The people behind the counter are very knowledgeable, and helpful.

Kismet is a phenomenal Cape Town institution. I remember my father going off there late on a Sunday afternoon 40 years ago to find some item or other that he needed for his latest home repairs. Always helpful, always courteous. Very recently stopped in there and the essence of the place is still the same.

It's community driven and family owned. It's been owned by the same family for 2 generations. The best part is they have whatever you need for you DIY work at home or for larger projects and they're open on weekends. There's always something you going to need even if you need to get your fresh bread and for the next morning, they have it. I went there to get timber, wood glue, screws and a drill bit for project at home during the holiday and they were the only hardware open.

Always very friendly. Whatever you need, they have stock of.

I always get what I need and goods are well priced.
