Die Anker is a comfortable if dated guesthouse, where I was treated to warm old school hospitality by the managers and friendly housekeeper, Isabel. There is a communal kitchen for self catering, and an upstairs lounge for watching TV. Should one require meals delivered, management will organise this with the only restaurant in town, Klein Oqis. However, I would recommend eating at the restaurant where you will meet the personable owner, Andrew Cloete, who will regale you with interesting stories about the town and surrounds. I had an altogether pleasant stay in Koingnaas, and look forward to being back to dig further into the history of the area, and to do the Shipwreck trail on the Diamond Coast with renowned guide Dudley Wessels.
What an absolute gem we found! Friendly reception. Awesome self catering accommodation. On-suite bedrooms, shared lounge upstairs and kitchen downstairs.
Best resting place with springbok visiting in the early morning
Very friendly and a great atmosphere. Good breakfast.
Wonderful staff, great food, clean and spacious rooms
Translated by Google We had a very nice stay in the Anker. Linen is pure white, real peasant food. Lots of wildlife in the field around the guest house. We saw springboks, ostriches, meerkats, a fox, turtles and many felts. Original Ons het baie lekker gebly in die Anker. Linne is spierwit, regte boerekos. Baie wildslewe in die veld rondom die gastehuis. Ons het Springbokke, Volstruise, meerkatte, 'n jakkals, skilpaaie en baie voels gesien.
