Tarantula Guesthouse

After a long day’s driving, made it to Calvinia and was looking for somewhere quiet to relax. Looked for something on the outskirts of town, and what a surprise. Got way more than what we expected with their very spacious Unit 3, stylishly furnished not like the usual self-catering establishment. Not to mention the private swimming pool and the view! Worth driving the R27 again simply to have the excuse to sleep there again.

We arrived without a booking after a hailstorm changed our plans for a stay in Sutherland. Our hosts were extremely welcoming and the chalet was five-star. Amazing place to stay, everything you could want and spotlessly clean. Highly recommended.Rooms: 5/5

Very good self catering accommodation. Well designed. Well equipped. Tastefully finished and decorated. Comfortable, warm winter visit and quiet. The kind of place I would hesitate to use again in preference to others I've used in Calvina which were also good.

An outstanding self-catering experience. Our units were clean and excellently kitted with modern bathrooms and piping hot water. Great TV and WIFI, ample kitchenware, nice heated blankets. Exceptional value for money.

A little house away from home. Short stay, but it offered what we needed. Beautiful views of the landscape and mountains. Being woken up by the distant noises of the sheep was welcomed. We enjoyed eating our meals outside since the weather was really great. Great service over all. Check in and out was quick and easy. Only problem was I could not mail my letter in town. The red mailbox was too tall to reach the top.

Lovely oasis on the edge of town. The swimming pool in our unit was a huge bonus! Calm and tranquil with a lovely lawn and braai area and stunning views. Inside is well kept, clean and comfortable. We will be back.

We actually stayed at Rebunie Self-Catering which is managed by Tarantula. The unit was spotless and comfortable with crisp linen and towels. The large patio braai is a winner. We will definitely make use of Rebunie in the future.Rooms: 5/5

Farm like feel with a modern touch to it. The beds are amazing with its memory foam feeling, best bed so far from all the other guests houses I've been to! And the high ceiling makes it for me! Price is also budget friendly, so this is definitely a winner option
