Exceptional stay with the most friendly Hosts. Stunning farm with great heritage. Loxton is a small town but worth the experience. I will recommend it to anyone that loves the farm experience and brilliant food.
I stayed in the beautifully appointed Shepherd's Cottage. Everything one needs, all very comfortable. On a working farm, far from noise and worries. Very friendly housekeeper showed me the ropes. My go-to place in Loxton from now on!Rooms: 5/5
What a beautiful guest house!! . It was like an Oasis in the dry karoo. Accommodation and service was 5 star. We highly recommend the braai packs we ordered in advance. It was fantastic. The sunrise was spectacular. The R381 for Beaufort west is a 104 km gravel road. We suggest you take the Victory west turn off through Loxton then it's only a 7km gravel road.
One of my favourite places! Amazing little oasis! Wonderful people ! We immediately felt like we'd known them forever! They were so helpful and generous and hospitable The cottage was just perfect! The family dog Topaz was unforgettably lovely and the tortoises just made my day! My only regret was that we couldn't stay longer and spend more time exploring!
Great accommodation just outside of Loxton. Clean, comfortable and everything you would need after a long drive. Facilities are great, will definitely be back when in the area again.

We stayed in the house on the edge of Loxton which was the author Deon Meyers previous house. It was tastefully decorated with every appliance you could need. The only real issue were the flies coming from the nearby sheep feedlot. The feedlot owner should get free ranging chickens to eat the fly grubs. The house should also invest in zappers. Otherwise really enjoyed peaceful and safe Loxton only a 1.5 hour drive to the Fraserburg paleo surface site where Karoo Fossil Tours will show you 250 mill year old reptile tracks
This place is like a place in the magazine Garden and Home! An oases in the drought stricken Karoo with lively trees and green grass! And of course extremely expensive! We never saw the land lady but was welcomed by a lovely lady called Betje! We cycled there from Victoria West and after 90km. we didn't look our best! The braai pack was very nice but my goodness expensive! A tiny loaf of bread, baked by Betje was devine, but it was priced at R55! Butter extra and also the jam! A movie was made here and therefore it is well known. We really felt like "bywoners" and not at all at ease!!!! I think it is suitable only for overseas guest, but you might find it completely welcoming!
Beautiful Karoo farmstay experience. Friendly, hospitable hosts, in a stunning setting. Would absolutely recommend.
