The nurses at the hospital are kind and treat people with respect but they are not informative when they do practical stuff on you, they do not communicate the point of the whole procedure they just do their job, they did not inform me when I was going for an induced labour, I stopped eating my supper because I thought it would be a quick procedure only to find that I am not even going to return back to that same ward again. During the induced labour I was told not to make noise even though I'm a first time mom and in tremendous pain, whilst the nurses gathered in the room to have unnecessary conversations and laugh irritatingly loud. The people who were at theater with my Dr were really nice and they communicated every little thing they were doing on my body to me, they helped me calm down, it was a beautiful experience in there although they didn't explain why they couldn't let me hold my baby immediately after the surgery. The nurses in maternal ward wouldn't let the father of the baby enter after visiting hours although they have written on their visitation rules that father's can visit at anytime of the day and he was refused to go to theater for support, that was the biggest turnoff for me. The food was beautifully plated and it tasted really good, I like the fact that you receive tea and biscuits in the morning and late at night without the need to order. I would definitely make a return visit for my second baby, I hope to recieve better service next time.
I had my 1st baby here & the reason I'm not giving it a 4/5 star its because my child was then admitted recently to have his adenoids removed. And as much as the day stuff was so welcoming & just amazing people, the night stuff was a totally different story. Only to think these were grown women that are working with babies day in & out, they had no consideration or patience, they were as cold as the room that I was sleeping in. The day of the operation was just the worse for me & my child, because I wasn't allowed to give him anything to eat after 10pm but it was the inconsideration of these nurses & lack of information to lack of impathy that they had. I didn't understand what was going on & nothing was explained to me, and that made the whole experience not great. The morning of the procedure, my paperwork was not complete by the night nurses, it was just a mess! But a BIG shout out to the day nurses, they were great as well as the ladies that brings us food, much respect to u all.
Coming to Lenmed Randfontein is more than a pleasure. From entering the security gate all through to having a bed all staff are extremely polite and helpful. Something you don't find in South Africa too often. I've just overheard a nursing staff meeting on targets for December and something that was interesting was that "We are not in the hospitality industry, we are in the business of making people healthy. That does not mean that we shouldn't treat people well." Lenmed is clean. Bedding gets changed regularly even if the patient is hard-headed. "Can you get up for us to change your bedding? No! OK we'll change it with you in the bed." Meals aren't too scruffy either although errors may occur on the order slip. Please note the French toast made with no eggs. I loved it. As hospital's go. Go for it.
The staff member at casualty was working so hard and explained to all that "I'm alone please be patient. I will do best to assist you in no time." This statement by itself made waiting time a no issue. His every effort to give individual attention to every client is commendable. Very friendly staff
Wow I hv experienced good treatment from the security, receptionist, nurses and doctor, they were all friendly and helpful, I liked the fact that the theater staff asked me if there was anything specific that I wanted to know before the opp, the cleanliness an security within the hospital wow, the medication dispatch out of this world. Poor Poor Poor service from the doctors, my mother admitted Tuesday morning and is Wednesday no doctor has attended to her and she hasn't received any help but they are claiming from the medical aid.
I had a procedure done and spent a night at this hospital. This must be the best private hospital in the country. Beautiful rooms and bathrooms with caring, competent medical, admin, cleaning and security staff. The food was amazing, not typical hospital food. Thank you, your efforts are greatly appreciated.
My boyfriend went in because he was suffering from several boils, abdominal pain and severe constipation. The hospital admitted him, drew bloods for screening and kept him there for the first 24hours before administering any treatment or giving him blood results. The next day, they made him 3 liters of water to drink all day because they intended to perform a colonoscopy on him on day 3, at 2p.m. No food and No treatment on day 2 besides pain killers. On day 3 they perform a CT scan, quoting 12k from medical aid. And they didn’t find anything wrong. Then at 2p.m they didn’t do the colonoscopy, my boyfriend stayed hungry. Around 8p.m on day 3 they did the colonoscopy and found ulcers. The following day day 4 he was released. And all that money and time spent, they didn’t diagnose anything but ulcers. The nurses treated him poorly even in front of doctors. And he filed a complaint with the hospital. Merely 5 days after being discharged, he has more infections popping up and feeling even more sick. He has checked into Netcare tonight, hopefully he will get better treatment.
A very bad experience in the maternity ward ,short staffed the morning shift was so bad ,thanks to the cleck who always assist ,lenmed management employee nurses ,big up to the nite shift staff you tried making my stay easy ,I will never recommend the hospital to anyone ,the worse part when you tested positive their call you a Covid patient I'm so dissiaponted with this treatment,no value for money everything was bad nje no more using this facilities again . My name was Covid patient , feeling sad because I left my son there.
Well where do I start? First, the ER charged my medical aid for 3 day admission even though I was at the hospital for 5 hours. My mom is currently admitted, they want to do a second set of full blood tests on her when though the first round of test results aren’t back. I will not be making use of this hospital again even in an emergency. The wait for assistance in the Casualty is so long. So long. My mom is experiencing the worst from the night staff who are rude and cold towards her. Listen, never again.
