We went for the lunch and dance with the tour around the villages, was such a great experience to learn some things about the culture. Was interactive playing drums and learning a few hello words for each culture. Bring your camera .Food was amazing , though not sure what was on the menu, plenty of gifts to buy as well. Fantastic experience that you should definitely check out. Just wear good shoes though walk isn't huge the path a little uneven and for the elderly you may need wheel chair or walker as I seen some get tired on the tour.
I came for the tour and lunch, at and it was fabulous! I really enjoyed learning about the local traditions. The only thing I wished they would improve is selling a guidebook with all the information they shared during the tour.
There were only 3 people on the English language tour when we were there. While it was easier for us getting around in a small group, the group leader talked very fast as if to get the tour over with quickly. The dancers were excellent, but with applause from only 3 people, it didn't really have the right vibe and energy.
Great experience and we had an amazing tour guide. I enjoyed coming home and bringing my USA family to learn more about the cultures in SA. Shopping was great too. Way to go guys.
Lesedi is a cultural treat! Our tour guide was excellent, he had firsthand knowledge of each village we were introduced to. I marveled at his insight. The drumming lessons were fun. Learning about the customs and traditions of various cultures was a highlight.
Truly 5 stars. Normally I avoid tourist ‘cultural’ places but this place truly gives a realistic experience of Africa’s main tribal culture. You will get a history lesson, play some drums, visit 5 authentic tribal villages and learn their customs, watch a great dance performance and enjoy an African lunch or dinner. Go in the evening when it is less hot. You can stay for the night at their ‘huts’. We paid 1000rand per pax inclusive of lunch and transport. This place badly needs marketing promotion.
Drumming session was amazing. The cultural aspect and story telling through dancing very good. Food amazing, great variety with crocodile and real South African food. The hotel part is good, but for day-visitors the experience and facilities is not the same that 8 years ago. aha need to give Lesedi a bit of TLC. To many small infrastructral problems show and maintanance must be priority. Nearby activities: Lion Safari park close to Lesedi. Food & drinks: Amazing experience with Local Food
Nothing to fault at all about this place. I stayed for one night and had an incredible time. I learned a lot, the food was great and the rooms were great. A very well run facility.Rooms: 5/5
The main meals are good but the tea cookies not so great. The dancers and tour guide are professional. Accommodation is not too bad but there's no fridge, iron in the room. The aircon was not working but the ceiling fan stood in the gap. The mood is good and rural especially for an urban dweller.
You experience culture and peace in seclusion. Funny but good thing is the place evokes respectful, accomodative, inclusion and neighbourly vibe among guests. You experience cultural dance and singing. Housekeepers and hosts and hostess make you feel so at home you'd feel weird if someone addressed you as sir or ma'am. There are TVs in the rooms for some of us who are "addicts," but of course if it distorts the ambience for you, you can treat it as abstract decor.
