One of our best camp sites. The campsite was beautiful and had all the things you could need, they had a spectacular elephant museum that you would need to see. The restaurant was beautiful and overlooked the river. We enjoyed a cheese cake that was just out of this world perfect. The bathrooms were a bit out dated like all other rest camps and not always the cleanest, but non the less everything else in this camp site made up for that
Very nice camp - abundant ablutions which are well serviced. Very shady camp site areas with large trees and braai stands are cleaned early every morning. A well stocked shop where most of the basics can be purchased and a beautiful positioned restaurant with fantastic views of the river and all the game feeding on the banks. Menu is slightly limited but certainly doable. Certainly worth a visit.
Loved it. Signal wasn't great for the phone but, then again, that's not such a bad thing for a nature getaway. Generator power ensured electricity did not stop flowing despite ESKOM. There is AC. We stayed in a furnished villa so: 2 rooms, 3 single beds in each, bathroom in each, equipped kitchen open, comfy lounge area and mosquito covers on the windows and main door. There is a braai place which gets cleaned by staff every morning. Great location beside the river giving you front seat to the sights and sounds of the wild. Nice porch area with chairs and a dining table too. A small convenience store and restaurant within walking distance. Watch out for the monkeys - keep doors closed and maybe even locked; they are crafty little things always on the lookout for food. If you ever wanted to be "one" with nature, this is a great start!
Beautiful treed restcamp situated looking over the Letaba River with great views of birds and animals. Friendly and helpful staff at reception and the restaurant. Old bungalows lack modern layouts and amenities but are functional, clean and the location of the camp makes up for a lot. The pool is in need of a resurface and the fence needs maintenance too there have been visits by hyenas in the camp recently but work is being done on upgrading the shop and the elephant museum, so I expect these will get repaired in due course. Rooms: Our bungalow was comfortable, except the bathroom was so small you had to step into the shower and then close the door before you could get to the toilet. There is a kitchen/dining table on the undercover patio which is great for separating your sleeping area from cooking and food smells, and perfect for sitting outdoors for meals, but did require vigilance to keep food safe from monkeys and the occasional hyena.
Sevice at the restuarant is not up to standard, theres no standerd, asked one waiter for assistance and the third one assisted us today. Waited 2and a half hours on thursday for lunch, know that where was a problem with staff laundry is a big stuff up. Still havent recieved the laundry back from friday.Rooms: 3/5
One of the older Kruger camps. Accommodation is old and dated with noisy air-conditioning. Weeds around pool. The restaurant has a beautiful view over the Letaba river. Gardens around the central area is well kept. The elephant museum is a must visit.Rooms: 3/5
We popped in to Letaba to have breakfast. The food at Tindlovu restaurant was good, and very tasty. After breakfast we visited the elephant museum which is definitely worth a visit if you're nearby. The camp is well kept, neat and tidy. The new shop is currently being built and should be agreat addition to the camp.
I chose a budget room, and was pleasantly satisfied with it. Very basic with 3 beds a fridge and kettle, basin and varandah. The ablution was neat, but sewerage smell was not pleasant..Rooms: 4/5
The general maintenance of this wonderful camp is woefully inadequate. The grass is not cut and growing in the paving. The paths are not swept as they used to be. The swimming pool is not functional and the surrounds overgrown and dilapidated. So sad to see that management can't do the basics right.......Rooms: 3/5
Nice rest camp, great facilities. Restaurant is modern, Elephant hall museum is a must visit for all Kruger lovers. Movie night on weekendsRooms: 5/5
