Sisters and nurses LOVE their jobs...they genuinely care, their commitment is to be commended. Didn't see a MOOD, didn't HEAR irritation in their voices, Although they're also tired, also overwhelmed with responsibility, they made us feel welcome and treated my husband with respect and dignity ...
I had the worst experience of my life at this hospital. I had a major spinal surgery at this hospital in August 2021. I couldn't move my arms or legs and was in excruciating pain, so I asked nurse Johanna to please help me turn over. She responded with: "Then move if you want to move! I'm not hurting myself to move you." I weighed 64kg at the time. One nurse just walked into my room after calling her and she left again without saying a word to me. Another even told me: "You white people complain too much! I work with my own people in the public hospital and they like getting free food." Only after I started being overly nice to them, complimenting them and thanking them for being such wonderful people, they at least started closing my curtains when washing me, instead of in open view of everyone else in the ward as they had up to that point. It felt so dehumanising, as if I had to beg for bare, human decency. They lost some of my clothes, and on the checkout day, I had to pack my suitcase alone, despite barely being able to stand.
I recently had an operation done by Dr Chris Grabe at Life Fearieglen hospital. From medical aid authorisation, admission, ward staff and stay there was an excellent experience for me. I will defnitely recommend this facility and commend them for their high quality service.
The nurses at this hospital are not fit for taking care of vulnerable people. Please raise the bar for hiring staff members in the future. Family members shouldn't have to worry about mistreatment of their loved ones inside the ward, especially in such a critical time of their lives.
Friendly service all round. The security at the gate when looking for parking, the doctor, the nurses, the restaurant. Really a different experience from what I generally remember from previous experiences with hospitals.
Best ever. Had shoulder operation and the service was 5 star and food best ever hospital food. The staff incredible.
What an amazing experience! Professional and caring personel . Considering the HUGE presure and long hours staff are working under, they deserve a medal for what they do. Thank you so much. And the same goed for Dr Coetsee and his staff.
My wife went for an ankle operation at Faerie Glen Hospital done by Chris Grabe. She was infected with the COVID 19 virus during het stay in the hospital and nearly lost her life. The operation was not successful and she had to undergo a second operation on 17 March 2022 on the same ankle after which she passed away on 20 March 2022. Not the hospital nor Chris Grabie phoned me to sympathize or inform me of the reasons of her death. One gets the idea that patients are just numbers at Faerie Glen Hospital.
