"Life Carstenhof Hospital is a private hospital in Midrand, Gauteng. The hospital is part of the Life Healthcare group and has 141 beds. Hospital features include an ICU, neonatal ICU, 24-Hour accident and emergency unit, a 21 bed maternity unit and 5 delivery rooms. This unit is supported by a well baby clinic which provides immunisation and support to the mother and baby after delivery. The unit also houses family rooms where fathers can also stay over. We are also very proud of our beautiful surroundings- the peaceful stream that flows through our grounds, our tall willows, our peacocks- always ready to show off their plumage, to name but a few."

I've been to this hospital a few times for personal and also for family members... I can't really fault them, especially my experiences. Facility is always clean and tidy and you get served very quickly especially. The ladies are stern but friendly and always up for patients. Beds and other facilities in premises are in top shape and the revamped wing adds additional capacity.
All staff are friendly from a General Assistant to Dr's level. Thank you so much for your hospitality and smooth communication It was my first time and I was honestly impressed with care that you provided for my daughter. From the Reception until we got admitted nothing beat customer service in any service, it builds trust and bring hope in a hospital environment. Keep it up!
Staff are attentive, friendly and professional. The hospital is very well maintained. Thank you for the excellent care administered over Christmas. Am glad that my dad was admitted to Carstenhof after being turned away from another hospital.
In order to establish if a hospital is successful, one not only observes how they treat their patients but how they treat their nurses. Nurses are the face of a hospital because they are the first to attend to your loved ones and their needs. I've heard many stories of hard working nurses who constantly put the needs of their patients first before their own health and safety. With that in mind, I can unequivocally confirm that Carstenhof hospital is operating outside of ethics by mistreating their nurses to gruelling work hours without emotional or monetary conpensation. At this rate, the hospital is holding it's breathe waiting for one of their nurses to pass out on the job or worse, be subject to an incident outside of their grounds due to total exhaustion. They deserve the same amount of respect that doctors receive because they are a part of your loved one's road to recovery. Do better Carstenhof.
My sister was in this hospital close to a month, test were done incl MRI etc. Send home with treament. She is still the same. Whats worse is that we needed a second opinion from another doctor, this doctor tried to request the records from this hospital. He was told he cannot be get them as my sister is still owing the hospital... We are sitting with a situation of a sickly person, no medical records... Sad
I am so disappointed with carstenhof I really did not expect to receive such uncaring treatment and disregard for my son's health. I gave birth there, my son takes his immunizations there and his doctor is there, my gynecologist is there that's how much I trusted the hospital. I'm a cash paying client and I don't even owe the hospital because I would spend my last cent for my son's health and I thought they shared the same values to caring for my son however I was very wrong . All they were good at is sending unnecessary quotes every 2 minutes making me pay and explaining nothing about why so many test. Worse R5000 later after all that, all they had to say was that it was a stomach infection and still had to leave with my son still unwell but every one got their pay day except for poor me who was still stressed about what to do with my sick boy. They had an ordacity to refer me to a different doctor after expressing my frustration and concerns. N I'm still taking this further not when I still had to take my son to another doctor after all this. I will write a formal complaint and make sure people are accountable for their actions
Carstenhof hospital in midrand have a bad service ever. I arrived at the hospital around 18:00 and I'm still at the hospital now at 23:00 and no communication. I have been in the waiting area for two hours only after two hours you get to see a doctor and still when you get to see a doctor you still have to wait for him for about an hour in the doctor's room. I'm told that there is only one doctor to assist at night. I feel like I'm in the public hospital, this is extremely bad. I'm so disappointed.
The best. Delivered via csection 2 months ago. Doctor Mosethle is a gem. The pain was so bearable their pain management is tops! The sisters where so so so great I cannot recall names but there was a sister Rosaline from Maternity and Sister Junerose from the Nursery. Wow ladies please keep it up!!!!!
I am a Teenager who gave birth at casternhof and I must say I had the best stay in the hospital, Maternity ward is heaven sent!! I stayed there for 4 days the nurses were kind and came to check up on me whenever I would call for assistance I would get help immediately even after the operation they took best care of me and gave me my pain medications even the lady who was teaching us to bath our babies I love her sooo much and I also made friends with the other momies and we would talk while bathing our babies even the food was delicious and also the nurses who were giving us our food were so kind to me if I had to give birth again I would definitely come back here thank you To doctor Tivane who delivered my baby girl and to the staff and for not being judgemental and for the love and care !
I got admitted in Carstenhof hospital on the 21/1/2023. The staff was friendly, polite and very helpful. Thank you to the staff of carstenhof, the nurses, cleaners, kitchen staff and everyone. A special thank you to a few nurses that I remember, sis Leah, Unathi, Mokete, Molethane... Very friendly, effecient and every time they'd do what is required 'educate before you medicate.' a biiiig thank to my doctor, Dr Neo Rakumakoe who's so kind, engaging & positive. Stay blessed.
