Thank you Glynnwood Life Hospital for exceeding my expectations of what I have already heard. My mom was admitted to high care after suffering a heart attack. From the time she arrived at emergency she was greeted by the security with a wheel chair. The process of completion of medical information was efficient and painless. The stay in high care was comfortable and all medical staff was always helpful and attended her needs without hesitation. The compassion from all staff is most admirable. Also special thanks to Dr N Maharaj for getting mom healthy again.
I came in to ER with my 1 year one son. Immediately when we got to the reception the female nurse who attended us was rude instead of assisting us she was busy complaining that we brought our son in a stroller and she showed no empathy at all. All she cared about was complaining about us putting our sick baby in a stroller I honestly found that inappropriate it was an emergency she should have been helping us but she went on and on about the stroller talk after she was done satisfying her ego she then attended us. As if that was not enough the next nurse also gave us hard core attitude I just don’t appreciate the treatment I got from the nurses, I actually expected this kind of treatment from the government hospital I am never setting my foot again at glynwood. The doctor was very nice and friendly. Though they asked me and my partner to leave the ward while taking blood tests from our 1 year 7 months old son without explanation I also found that odd. I am so disappointed with the service I got this midnight
My brother was admitting for emergency surgery. After which he was in the ICU. Its unacceptable that the staff make you feel like you are a burden to them. Patient vomited after been given citro soda!!!! He was made to feel like it was his fault that the linen had to be changed!!! Is it not the staff who is responsible to assist the patient without traumatizing him/her? It is absolutely disgusting. Remember nobody wants to be sick and land up in your ICU,,, also we pay up to R4000 a day to lie there and be treated in an undignified manner.. Sad and very disappointing
Nursing staff in general quite rude, actually push patients from sitting position back down into their beds, shout at many patients that were in the same ward as me. Shouted at me telling me that I am wasting their time, and all I was very ill with extremely high temp above 38C. Food disgusting. Cleanliness shocking, I asked 3 different cleaners to clean up blood from the basin, not mine so who knows how long it was there, during all my time in the ward the blood never cleaned up, waited 2 days for nobody to arrive to fix the remote with the bell and lights, so dont know what would have happened if I had an emergency I could never contact anyone, maybe the next patient will be lucky enough to have the remote gadget fixed to working condition, all the nurses are not trained to deal with patient with mental wellness issues, they left a patient with us who had lost touch with reality which is very sad, but she was walking around moving things, I could not sleep worrying for that patient and care, and for myself. The sisters and nurses mocked me, laughed at me, spoke of me in their own language, quoting things I said in english, then laughing, so the experience was just the WORST, I really do not know how this hospital manages to retain its status as a hospital on Discovery. Sooooo expensive and such low low poor quality. There was only 2 ladies that I could say anything good about, Gugu, and one nurse that bothered to ask how I was doing. People DO NOT USE this hospital, its a waste of money and increases a persons stress level !
Nurses are very condescending, especially nurses like Zama Nguni and Linky Kubesi in high care. They answer very rudely to questions that patients ask about their medication, health and even look down on some of their questions. The nursing staff is horrific. The actual doctors, physicians and technicians are excellently skilled, very well education and have a friendly bedside manner. I would go there for a consult, but I could never go there again for admission.
Radiology department is the worst, went for CT scan, the "sister" could not find a vein to insert the drip, she did not tie the cord tight enough for my veins to show. Waiting for the images was supposed to be an hour but I waited 2 and half hours, when I asked at the reception when it will be finished, it was ready and waiting, they never bothered to call me. Will never go back. Really disappointing.
I arrived at the emergency room with a suspected blood clot they admitted me and I sat for 24 hours not even seeing a doctor or any tests done because apparently the doctor had forgotten to fill the form in. I have lupus and antiphospholipid syndrome and when I finally saw the doctor he was a pediatrician who did not even check my heart or anything said the blood clots were not there and sent me home incorrect specialist who probably did not even want to treat me. I am now home still sick with pain and dizziness and no answers. Waste of time and money they have a rheumatologist so why a pediatrician for a 42 year old patient with chronic conditions
THE WORST EMERGENCY SERVICE EVER! African time have nothing on this place, the nurses said we only have to wait 2 hours it has been 5 before we got to see the doctor. If minus stars was an option I'd give it

Terrible service!!! I took my 4 month old daughter to the ER as she had a serious running tummy and vomiting. I was not given any medication for her I paid an amount of 5000 and was told she needs admission for 5 days Blood samples was taken from her and I waited for 5 hours while my child cried I was not happy as the 1 doctor said she is fine just needs a drip but another wanted admission I NEVER RECEIVED NO DRIP I was told that before they can stabilize her or do anything the need payment for admission I did make arrangements for payment but I decided that I could seek better medical attention as I was not receiving it at GLENWOOD Staff members were asleep when I arrived Terrible medical facility No humanity
