This was my first Lonehill Park run and 8th different park run venue. Nicely organised, nicely marked and beautiful surrounds.
Another lovely Parkrun. 2 laps of a tough route with a mix of paving and trail. One is either running uphill or downhill on this Parkrun which makes it so challenging - almost no flat sections. We parked in a nearby open park, which is not great for vehicles with low clearance. It would be best to park at the nearby shopping centre and walk the short distance to the start.
Great place, ran there today for my first time and I really enjoyed it. Lots of friendly people and amazing running route.
It's a doable 5km Parkrun that loops. It's community driven like all other Parkruns. Also not very hilly probably 2.5 out of 5 in terms of how steep it is, a place to with the family or even run as part of training.
Good parkrun with number of uphill sections to challenge you. Beautiful view of the dam on the start and finish.
Thanks as always to the diligent volunteers that help make these events happen!
Lovely parkrun. Not too challenging and great for prams. It's loops twice. The pup loves to cool off in the small clean water catchment. Parking is close. It's pretty popular so get there early if you're keen to get a good start to avoid the bottleneck.
My husband and I ran with our 3 year old. It had an amazing atmosphere with people running and walking, children and dogs joining in. It was well organised with friendly volunteers. It is awesome. Well done to all involved.
I ran my first parkrun today. There are two laps, variating between up and down hill slopes. Had a good time. The organisers are friendly. Runners make it great too. Whether you're a newbie runner or a pro, it's an ideal place to run. Join us!
A great track, incline not to bad and the surface is more level, less ankle stress. Just a bit weird lapping the track since all the park runs I did is one lap of 5km. But still its not bad, also some good views of the dam. So far i have seen fewer runners 600+- comparing to other tracks like Modderfontein with 800-1000 on a good day. Also plenty of space to overtake. Track less difficult for me than Modderfontein, which other tracks are similar to lone hill in the east rand area? Modderfontein is the one I always do but I am a bit down with my healtg so that track is killing me for now.
