Very nice local eatery. The staff were professional and personable. Extensive breakfast menu available with good coffee. Recommended!
Lovely spot, very chilled atmosphere, good food and affordable.
We arrived for a late lunch on 28 December 2022. We were greeted and requested a table for 2. Although the restaurant was not busy, all the tables were either occupied or had not been cleared. We waiting a further 10 min for a table to be cleared, before I went to the bar to again request that a table be cleaned for us. Again we waited for a further 10 min, but nothing. No staff could be bothered, no management was noted, but they must have been around. If management cant be bothered to ensure tables are cleaned, then why should the waiters. There are so many other restaurants in Hoedspruit. Rather spend your hard earned money elsewhere. I was being generous by giving them 1 star.
With respect to the service, as the customer you'll need to be the one to drive the service experience. This means that if you chose the maroela breakfast, as the customer you'll have to indicate the types of eggs you'll like. Also be aware of the tipping clause, that the tip is shared amongst all the staff, as indicated in the menu. I do not have enough information to confirm on the fairness of this practice, as other places don't disclose the tipping system. I'll however encourage that tip still as its a good thing. I'll emphasize that those with preference, indicate upfront so they are accommodated. Their prices are reasonable as well in using gauteng as a benchmark
Appalling service. Glass of water had shard of glass in it. Manager and waiters were indifferent. Overall sorry state of affairs Reference the owners rebuttal- Yes I was told that there was no burger special but I can assure you that I can afford it. Even with the current cost of living crisis. Your staff DID NOT replace that glass till I asked for it to be replaced 20 min after pointing out the glass I found and nearly swallowed. This is not an issue related to an unclean table or inattentive service. A piece of sharp glass in food is a dangerous thing should be dealt with some sincerity. Obviously at this point I was put off by the experience which only went downhill from that point in the following ways- Glass wasn't replaced and this has to be requested Had to call for chilli sauce twice Had to call for the bill twice You may consider this to be acceptable, in which case I must apologize. But I don't, so I won't. Good customer service principles dictates that you speak to the customer not your staff to get the picture. Your manager was regaling your staff about how another customer who complained while we were there, was wrong. Ryan, I am assuming you are the owner. It's your business. Do the right thing - listen to the numerous customers who have complained, not the ones who think you are wonderful or your staff that are so detached from reality that they are doing you a disservice.
The worst service ever. Waited a very long time for service. Had one drink and decided to leave. Rather go to the Chubby Pig Eatery better service and excellent food.
This is definitely the place to go for an outing! We were a group of 16 today and our waiter, Tinashe, didn't miss a beat. Got every single order correct, waiting time was good, he even managed to separate our orders from the mail bill. Will be back for sure!!

A group of 12 of us went for dinner. We were totally blown away by the excellent service. The lady taking our drinks order hadn't even left the table and the drinks arrived! The staff were very accommodating and efficent and the food was great. We will definitely be back
Food was amazing! First time I tried flatbread with Camembert, blue cheese and Marula Jelly, it was super delicious! Definitely worth going.Food: 5/5
