Medicross Pinelands

It’s a great spot. It’s abit cramped and gets super busy. Be ready for a long wait. Customer service was t my fave. Doctors are great.

I was charged a full consultation of R560 for a repeat script of 2 weeks. I was in the office for 1 minute, I was not examined, not even a blood pressure was done. I would understand if it was for 6 months and multiple items. I previously was charged R280 for a repeat A repeat script for 2 weeks medication and 1 minute of the Dr's time, no examination, not even a blood pressure and l am not on a Medical aid, wiĺl definitely not

2 yo 3 hour waiting periods, my doctor fantastic so makes up for waiting, but reception dont look u in the eye and are short with u. Also why have a medice dispensary, if they take lunch and close after u waited 3 hours??

The doctors are superb but the reception and office management is abysmal. I was subjected to the most unethical, unfair and discriminatory treatment this morning. I arrived at 8:15 , 4th in line waiting for the doctor I chose to see let’s call them Dr Y. Someone else came in whose appointment with her preferred doctor let’s call them Dr X had been messed up. She was told she could see Dr Y, but there were 4 people ahead and the wait would be an hour or more so she could go home and they would call her in due course. We chatted a bit and she left. Dr Y sees 2 people when the third person goes in they call her. She arrives and again sits next to me. We acknowledge each other. There I am ready to go see Dr Y and lo and behold, she is called in first because her file has been moved ahead of me. I I stand up and complain and I am blatantly told that she came before me etc and she suffered an injustice with the mess up of her original appointment. I tell them no, she wasn’t there before me and I witnessed the whole earlier event. Patient 3 confirms that I was next and she saw what happened ie I was skipped. The assistant who had placed my file on the desk and knew I was next confirmed this. When the lady comes out I ask her to confirm that I was there when she arrived the first time around. She confirmed. The receptionist offers me a hollow apology which I reject. Out of the 4 patients waiting how was the decision made to skip me? On what basis? I have been a patient at this practice since 2003 and have followed them to their new location. I think it’s time for a change.

I had the pleasure of being a patient of Dr. Essack at Medicross Medical Centre and can confidently say that she is an exceptional physician. She is knowledgeable, compassionate, and truly cares about her patients. She takes the time to listen to my concerns and provides thorough explanations for my treatment plan. Her bedside manner is top-notch and I always feel comfortable and at ease during my visits. I highly recommend Dr. Essack to anyone in need of a skilled and caring doctor.

I saw Dr Essack at Medicross Pinelands and had a very positive experience. The Dr was professional and thorough as well as checked with me if it was ok to send me a whatsapp with my blood test results in which she explained what they meant and how I was to proceed based on my results. The waiting time to see the Dr was long but this is one of the few practices that allow walk-in patients and the service I got made me understand why the wait was long. The Dr took her time to listen to me, examined me and then explained my condition was well as how to use the medication. The explaination is something I appreciated as very few Drs do this since they assume patients know everything. So while it may be a long wait, when you do get to see the Dr you discover its well worth the wait.

My wife and I have recently been to Medicross, Pinelands and suffice to say we were both happy with the service. We went to get travel vaccines and advice. Dr Jan Taljaard was an absolute gem of an doctor. He was very friendly and understood that we are first time travellers. He gave us solid advice on travel vaccines and general medical advice when travelling. Edit: I see a lot of reviews mentioning long waiting times. My waiting time was about 20mins, so not as bad.

A two hour wait is way too long for any patient or anyone with patience or both or neither. Waiting for more than an hour is unheard of in any professional service. Hire a locum if you can’t deal with the pressure.

I waited 2 hours to see a doctor on 10 June and then had a really bad experience when i called back a few days later. Some of the reception staff are unfriendly and really one proffessional. There are lots of doctors on pinelands. I'll rather visit one of them next time

One shouldn’t have to wait a minimum of 2 hours every single time they visit this place. It’s a pity because they have a few good doctors. You’re going to spend more time waiting to get helped than actually being assisted. Also, there’s a level of “bias” for certain groups of people, but that’s all I’m going to say for now.
