Beautiful garden with a huge collection of trees especially rhododendrons and eucalyptus. Public toilets are clean, spacious, bright, and wheel chair accessible. The ground is easy to walk. There is a wheelchair accessible cafe on site offering nice food and indoor seatings.
Such a lovely escape from the hustle and bustle! Make sure to find the oak walk at the back of the gardens…so natural with the wind blowing in the leaves on a bright autumn day. Yummy black-pudding sausage roll and salad in the Acton Cafe afterwards, the Wicklow Bots is a hidden gem!
A great place for a walk. Very nicely arranged. When the rhododendrons are blooming, it's beautiful.. Entrance is still free, parking is also free. There is a cafe and a picnic area.
What a wonderful surprise! I'm ashamed to say I hadn't heard about this place and I'm originally from Wicklow! We had a beautiful walk through endless varieties of plants and trees and although I'm pretty plant ignorant I found myself stepping closer to read about the origin of many of them. , there's a free tour with expert guides, we didn't latch on for lack of time but I would definitely do it next time. At the end we had a very tasty meal in the coffee shop, only setback was that the toilets were out of order that day so the gallons of tea weighed heavily on us. Beautiful surroundings, history and botanical treasures, can't wait to go back.
We absolutely love to come over here. Beautiful gardens, very nicely maintened. Pity that the Buddhist prayer flags are gone. Anyway it's a great spot for photographing wild birds.
What a lovely way to spend a few hours for fathers day in this beautiful oasis. You can walk as little or as far as you like. The cafe is lovely and friendly.
What a lovely day we had in Kilmacurragh. The rhodendrons were beautiful..so colourful. We were given a tour by Philip at 12pm of the house and garden and learnt so much about the history..the plants, trees, people. So informative and interesting. Finished off with a lovely picnic in the sun with coffee from the local cafe. Highly recommended.
The garden is small enough, can be done within 1 hour time, about 2000 steps. However we were pleasantly surprised that flowers were blooming in February and there is a lovely scent all around. Beautiful little place. Toilets are astoundingly clean. Highly recommend for families and couples
Very nice garden. I would suggest to go with their guide as she gave us so much interesting facts and tips. We were told that the most beautiful time is between mid April and May.
The botanic gardens is a hidden gem in Wicklow. Extremely well maintained gardens and perfect place for a walk or picnic. Really enjoyed the vibrant colours from flowers and plants. Would highly recommend it.
