If i could give a zero star ,I would have. Nobody opened while I was waiting in a wheelchair outside in the 1pm heat, despite attempts to attract their attention. Typical of a state entity in SA, I guess.
Another example of mismanagement of a state owned enterprise. When I arrived at the post office it was closed due to loadshedding thanks to other state owned enterprise Eskom. They only opened 15 minutes after power returned. There were no forms in the enclosed waiting area so we could at least spend the time waiting doing that. When forms were available, the photocopy quality was so poor that most were struggling to read them. These seem to have been copies of copies. The building is run down and dirty. You have to step over rubbish to get into the building. Notices are taped onto the walls and windows, leaving years worth of horrible marks from those already removed. The card machines weren't working. They didn't have enough change for cash. Over the sounds of another customer pleading for service at the parcel counter, I told them to keep the change as I just wanted to get home. Must be the most depressing place to work, because just 2 hours there and I was thinking of where I could move to to get away from this ongoing decay and frustration.
So bad. They don't even open their doors on time. It's 08:05 standing in the rain and the Noone in sight offering the service the post office is meant to be responsible for.
The card machines are always offline! This has been tge case every time I have been to this branch.
By far the worst post office I have been to. I am tired of the queue for me people! They hold up a cashier for over 2 hours and there is only 1 cashier to help most of the time for license renewals!! There should be a fare rule only 2 vehicles per person at a time then you have to go to the back of the line again! Simple!! I want to renew 1 vehicle license but must wait for someone else doing 10 plus vehicles not fare!!!
7 counters are available and only 1 counter open since morning 8AM. Use of mask not a concern here. Sanitizing station is empty. Not managed well.
I've had no big problems with this post office in all the time I've lived in this area I even sometimes regret moving just because the Walmer one is so utterly incompetent. The staff are always friendly and helpful. The only time there was a little trouble with my parcel the friendly man at the desk was very quick and helpful, and problem was solved quickly.
Hi. The branch manager has contacted me with an apology which i am very thankful for I visited your branch in Newton park Port Elizabeth on Friday the 5th of July 2019 12:30PM. There was one attended at the helpdesk assisting with vehicle ownership transfers. We provided all the necessary documents. Filling in the Buyer & seller documentation, certified copies of ID as well as a singed deed of sale indicating the buyer has right to transfer the car onto her name. Both the buyer and i were present at the branch. We also had the car papers which were all valid. We fulfilled all requirements according to your website. The attended refused to proceed. We asked him what is the problem and what do we need to do to resolve the issue? He replied "don't make your problem my problem". He refused to answer us. He continuously said "don't make your problem my problem" for about 10 consecutive times. We were very confused. Why could he help everyone else but not us? Why did he refuse to advise us what we can do to give a solution? Why did he say "don't make your problem my problem" so many times? Really un-acceptable behavior. It would have taken him 20 seconds to just explain to us what to do. He refused to give us his name. But i heard the name Sizwe. I tried complaining to the post office, as per normal . No answer. Tried emailing, their emails don't work either.
Went to register a motor vehicle in my name at 15:30. Still waiting at 17:00 and told to leave empty handed as they were closing. I was there at 07:30 this morning. Was called in as they recognised me from yesterday. All done by 08:05. Staff helpful but systems are shocking!
What a disgrace that the queue is so long trying to register a vehicle. Please get more qualified people to help. A person sits there for 4-5 hours!! It is terrible. Unfortunately this is the only place a person can go to!!! I posted this a year ago and still PATHETIC. Waiting in this queue is terrible. Not moved for 2 hours. DISGRACE.
