An absolute treasure to find people who are so understanding and experienced. It is a spacious and spotlessly clean environment with an efficient reception. What SO impressed me is that upon entering, there is a waiting room area for people with big doggies or dogs that are very excitable... then the main waiting room is huge, airy and spacious..... Then the main incredible thing is that there's also a waiting room off to the side, where it's quieter for cats..... this just blew me away. If I compare to my previous vet which crammed all and sundry into a small dark room with one ceiling fan....sometimes ill disciplined dogs etc.... and when animals are ill the last thing they need is noise.... North Rand Vet also has far better opening hours, I mean to open at 7.30 am week days is an absolute pleasure.
My parents’ healthy 4 month old puppy died mysteriously after getting a general health check and grooming from North Rand Road Animal Hospital. After they took her body back to the vet, they were told that if they wanted to know the cause of her death they would have to pay R4000 for an autopsy. Call me crazy, but you'd think as vets and medical professionals, they might also want to find out what happened to her wouldn't you? Then in an email they tried to blame my parents for her death by saying that if she had been brought in sooner after she had been with them for the health check that led to her death they may have been able to save her - talk about CRUEL. As medical professionals, do vets not also have a duty of care to the people who entrust them with their pets? Do yourself a favour and read their responses to client reviews on Facebook, how they speak to and about pet owners who dare to leave them negative feedback. It's jaw-dropping. If you’ve had a similar experience with this vet, please do us all a favour and leave a review about it. I will never recommend these vets to anyone, avoid them if you want to avoid a whole lot of heartache.
I have been taking my pets there for years and have always had great vet care and advice.
Bought dog food here, nice selection and very helpful office staff.
Very friendly ppl that work there and Very caring and very nice just want to say thank u to the doctor and all the staff for helping my baby girl Trixie if your looking for a vet this is the place I'm not working full time and I could still manage to pay her bill so they are affordable that's a plus thank u very much for helping trxie and taking her teeth out she's so much more happier pain free so I'm happy to. god bless
Terrible customer service, we waited over an hour due to an emergency and then the vet went home without seeing us, leaving us with a vet nurse/tech who misdiagnosed my daughter's cat and sent us to Fourways vet. We ended up with a different diagnosis from Fourways after paying almost R3000.00 to North Rand Road vet for the appointment and some x-rays. We asked whether they could email the x-rays to Fourways and were told that this couldn't be done either. This led to further delays at the Specialist and added cost. Very disappointed.
We love Northrand Animal hospital as Schnauzer Rescue SA. Nothing is too much to help with. Thank you
I've had a wide range of treatments done on both my cats and dogs, from treating an infected wound to dental procedures, even the standard sterilization and vaccination. Every time the entire staff is compassionate, caring and professional. I've always gotten only the best care for my furkids from them.
Super helpful. Diagnosed my kitten within 10 mins. Definitely recommend this animal hospital
