My French bulldog was referred for X-rays and ct scan for an issue with her back leg as she was unable to weight bear. After investigations it was found that it was her spine causing her issues and the cost would be £6000 estimated for surgery. Unfortunately I don’t have this kind of money to risk on an operation that may or may not solve her problem. As much as I love my dogs this is an impossible situation I have found myself in. I am monitoring her issue atm and weighing up our options. Just to point out yes she is insured but for only £1000.

What a fantastic place!! From arrival, where we were warmly greeted by the lovely ladies on reception, to the highly professional, reassuring and highly qualified vets. Our very poorly puppy was treated with care and efficiency and we were very reassured about his care when we had to leave him in the hospital. Today he was at last, discharged to the care of our local vet with a thorough explanation of his condition and treatment. Also the assurance that we can contact Northwest Veterinary Specialists if we have any questions or concerns. Would wholeheartedly recommend.

My dog was rushed in for emergency CT scan and eye surgery to remove his eye. They were amazing with my beloved pup and amazing with me as i was losing the plot and couldn't think straight. 1 week later, my beautiful little man is desperate to jump around again.

What a fantastic place this hospital is. From the wonderful reception staff who put you at ease to the vet nurses day and night who were so kind to me and Apple my dog. They kept me updated when i called in to check on her and talked to me about what Apples favourite food was which they got for her. As it was bonfire night special music was played to all the animals to keep them calm. Most of all my massive thanks go to Luca who worked his magic on Apples tiny spine and did an amazing job getting her back walking again. Each morning Luca would call with a progress report this was such a good thing as you always new your fur baby was being so well cared for.This really is a five star hospital for your fur babies with better treatment than human private care. I cant thank you all enough. Apple is doing very well and continues to improve. Best wishes to you all.

How NWVS dealt with me from the beginning was fantastic! Very clear and explained everything what was going to happen. Any query/question I had was answered. Very caring and very professional. Couldn't sing their praises enough. Thank you

Although a little out of my way they where well worth traveling too. They worked out the best way to use my insurance to get what I needed done for my pug. The day of the initial appointment the surgeonmatt I think it was rang me after I got home, explained all my options and got me booked in for the day after. The entire team was fantastic, the nurse who I had the face to face appointment with, the reception staff and the surgeon himself. Although there was some minor scabbing in the area the incision was practically invisible. It was hard to even see the stitches. Amazing work, amazing staff and my boy is doing fantastic nearly a year later. The price was probably somewhat normal for what we had to have done including the medication but it's obvious to see they have the facilities and they have the staff and their work speaks for its self. 5/5 from me.

My dog was referred to NW Veterinary Specialists by my own vet for neck pain. She had a neurological examination and MRI scan and I was absolutely delighted by the care and compassion shown by everyone, from my arrival in the morning to her discharge in the evening. The vet was excellent at putting her at her ease and I was given full information about her condition and the options for treatment. It is very reassuring to know that such a facility is available when your pet needs it.

Very friendly and supportive staff from start to finish. Was very comfortable leaving my fur baby with them.

From first contact through to discharge the service provided was excellent. All procedures were thoroughly explained to us. I was impressed with the high level of care given to my cat. Everyone was friendly and caring. I had full confidence that they would do everything to get my cat well again.

Amazing practice and amazing vets. Our beautiful boy had kind and caring treatment and the results of the tests were explained to us clearly and compassionately. He is now on a course of treatment and being monitored- we hope this will give him remission and the ability to continue to enjoy life.
