The restaurant next door I love it here. The decor is amazing and elegant looking. Great food and service. The prices are not cheap, but it’s expected for a fine dining restaurant. The cocktails are the best for me. I’ve been here countless times, and will be returning for many times.
I had a date with my wife here. Menu was a bit confusing at first but once we started ordering everything was amazing. Great dumplings, sushi and the best beef brisket. Cocktails was also exceptional. The dessert was a letdown though as the cakes was dry and the ice cream didn't feel special. Unfortunately the great experience did not end on 'n high. I'll take a coffee as dessert in the future.
I find this venue to be an excellently run establishment. The food is amazing, presentation of the Hibachi was fun and engaging. Our waiter, Albert, was accommodating and would provide background and insight with the menus. The atmosphere was great but not to my liking, though when the lights went out from loadshedding, I could appreciate it a lot more. Overall, I was very impressed and would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for authentic Japanese food with a twist of fusion. If not for that, at least go there for the experience. Now, to address the negativity. I've seen comments that the menu is confusing, drinks did not have prices, food is pricey for their portions, food is bland, service was terrible, the interior is for show. Let me just say, this is a fine dining venue for the experience. Menu? The title labels are renamed to fit the theme of the venue. If you spend some time going through it or even done some research, you'' find the menu works exactly like every other menu out there. Missing prices? Did not see any of it. Everything is clearly labelled and the menus have seen some age, these are not new menus and have been around for some time. These claims are unfounded. Food is pricey? The prices are fair, look at the other restaurants around. George's grillhouse have similar prices and they serve different portions too. A different restaurant altogether. If you are unsure of the portions, feel free to ask the waiters, they are always there to answer your questions. I ordered a Gyu Don Donburi, it was almost identical to the food in Japan, it was so good but I ended up not being able to finish it from its portion size. Food is bland? This comment irked me. Stating that octopus had no taste and was chewy. A simple Google research will actually say it does not have much flavour, it tastes of the ocean, the flavour profile can be changed subtly, it is chewy like gummy candy. Service? As I said, I had nothing but the best service. It wasn't just our waiter that served us, but additional other waiters wouid come by and assist or adjust our table accordingly. Just do some reading and set your expectations to match the scenario. Perhaps even expect to experience different flavour profiles you've never had before.
This place is my favorite, they have sushi master chefs and the service is the best. Well suited for business lunches or dinners. Please try the Saki menu.Food: 5/5
What a great restaurant! Aesthetics 10/10, owners really invested in this place. Great atmosphere, music, cleanliness and technology. The food is soo fresh and interesting, you MUST dine here. Had my birthday 20 June dinner there and I returned for the same meal on the 25th. However, I was unhappy when I was told that they don’t make lemon and butter sauce for my prawns when I returned. This was disappointing as I got it previously. I don’t know if the issue was the chef or my waiter. Instead of what I ordered, I was given some greasy solution. This was definitely below the standard of this place. I’ll attach a pic showing the difference between lemon and butter sauce of my first visit and when I returned. Parking: Easy access from P1
Food was great, tasty cocktails and a very pleasant waiter… and the ambiance! What more could one ask for for a good dining experience
Kōl is a beautiful, modern style Japanese restaurant. The service is great. I had ABURI SAKE HARAMI which is a lightly cooked salmon nigiri with black rice. It’s average. I wouldn’t recommend it unless you are not fan of raw fish. I recommend the Prawn Tempura California Rolls. It comes as a serving of 8 pieces. For dessert, I recommend Binchotan Chokoreto Brownie which is flambéed with liquor and the Chokoreto Brownie. In total, you would spend about R500+ per person including drinks depending on what you order. Wheelchair accessibility: The only problem is that there are stairs leading to the bathroom.
Great dining experience. Tried the small plates and loved everything. The service was superb, from the hostess to Ptetty, our waiter extremely knowledgeable on the menu.Food: 5/5
Friendly and attentive staff. All the dishes were great except for the chewy and rubbery octopus. You’ll love it if you’re into Japanese food and a good ambiance for a romantic evening or drinks with friends.
Took an unexpected stop for dinner after some school clothes shopping … if you are vegetarian even if you not I would highly recommend the Black rice , delicious! Our all time favourite spinach and cream cheese never disappoints. Was sad not to have our favourite mochi but the waitress did manage to make a special order for us … love Kol !
