Ooh La La La Artisan Confectionery was born long before it opened its doors in 2009. For many years it lived as a small flame in Karen Schneid’s heart, dancing around as a love for France and food. And then, one day, on a trip to a small rural village near Aix-en-Provence, a single bite of the legendary calisson sparked an all-consuming, burning passion that would see her enter a world of historians, artisans, merchants and those who guard the sweet secrets of the ancient science of sugar in the hidden corners of France.
Ooh La La Confectionery is not made from recipes, it is made from legends. Because what goes into each batch, slowly cooked in copper cauldrons and cast iron pots, is a whole lot of heart and a head full of dreams.
