Planet Fitness - Just Gym - the Pearls of Umhlanga

Gym upgraded from Orange just gym status to the premium blue status recently,this came with a higher gym fee,but it’s worth it. Brand new equipment,clean,spacious. Overall good experience. There has been no hot water for the last 2 weeks or so,but I won’t let that count against them,they are dealing with the problem.

I visited the branch as I was interested in joining, once my xyz gym contract was canceled. The reason for moving gyms was due to overcrowding and shortage of equipment at certain times of the day. I met a sales consultant. We discussed the situation. I advised that I will need to actually visit the gym during my training timeslot to ensure the issues I had at xyz gym weren't present at PF. He advised that I could use the facilities for a week, for free, to help in deciding whether to join PF Pearl's. I was requested to completed forms as he was running a one day only special. If I completed the forms he would lock the price and not charge signing fees. I only needed to pay R150 for an access card for the week. I paid the R150. I had not gone back to the gym ever since, even though I paid for the card. I contacted my xyz gym to cancel, I was offered an opportunity to try a different branch at the same rate, to determine whether this may resolve issues I had with the current branch of xyz. I communicated with the PF Pearls Sales Manager and the same sales consultant, that I would not be joining immediately and will be in contact after I end my current xyz contract. The manager even said we look forward to you joining in the future. Assuming everyone understood this, nothing further was communicated between PF Pearl's and I. A month later I find that they are debiting my account for membership fees. Two debit orders have been paid over already. I have sought assistance over two months but nobody seems to care anymore. When I call the customer support line I am told that it's between the PF Pearl's branch and I, they are not involved. The branch does not seem to even know about my complaint made to PF complaints line. I have tried calling the branch but people are unavailable. I message the sales consultant but he ignores me.

Positive: Friendly staff, variery and latest machinery with good space in between so that you can move freely. The setup of the gym also makes it easy to navigate. Negative: Bathrooms hygiene is seriously lacking and A/c is not cool. No alcohol wipes at the InBody.

Clean gym with a good variety of equipment. The manager Conrad was very pleasant & allowed me to use the facility while I was on holiday.

If you’re staying in cabana beach resort you can train for free with your stay. Very smart and clean gym, the equipment is new, clean and up to date. Treadmills and bicycles connect to your smart watch

Half way "under construction" but no building or moving machinery anywhere, there is a whole empty corner as well as an area with gym equipment just sitting there, not available to use. machines and weights are all over the place. Some machines are in working condition but they are broken and have not been repaired, most of the metal in the gym is rusted. One of the ladies toilets in the locker room has been out of order since early December. very disappointed in this Planet Fitness as it is in a higher end Mall.

Been trying to cancel my membership and the contact number answers as “the number you have sailed does not exist” as well as no response to my emails.

Overall a good gym . Friendly staff and enough equipment

Horrible experience. My lock was broken off my locker in the mens room and I was robbed on the second day there. Its a very unsafe place to gym.

I cancelled my membership and emigrated 9 months ago yet I’m still being charged every month. Have contacted them multiple times and told it has been cancelled yet I still get charged
