Description

Pondoro Game Lodge is a 5-star rated small, very exclusive 16-bed lodge inside the greater Kruger National Park forming part of a 3,5 million ha ecosystem within which the animals can roam around freely. Accommodation consists of 3 standard and 5 luxury chalets which all have a view of the Olifants river which is the largest perennial river in the Kruger Park. The area is known for its good game viewing and guests can go on 2 safaris daily as well as a bush walk.

Absolutely the most incredible place I've ever stayed. My wife and I stayed 4 nights for our honeymoon and the Pondoro team went above and beyond to create the most romantic possible experience for us. The attention to detail, impeccable cleanliness, and genuine hospitality were 10/10. Our room was cleaned every time we left it, snacks and drinks were always available, and staff took care of every detail of scheduling. The food was absolutely delicious and the chef made everything gluten free for me including chocolate lava cake! Pondoro provided a variety of romantic surprise dinner experiences that I won't spoil but will blow you away. Do not skip out on the spa, Lily is an absolute expert masseuse. Marius and Eric were top notch professional scouters and driver, we were able to track animals through thick brush for an unforgettable experience. We saw the Big five and soo many more animals and the team answered every one of our thousand questions they are just so knowledgeable. I could not recommend Pondoro more this place is an absolute gem.
We couldn't have picked a better place to celebrate our Honeymoon! This place blew our expectations from the moment we first contacted them to ask for information. The room was beautiful, food was AMAZING !! and safaris were mind blowing but it was all the staff at the lodge that truly made our honeymoon so special. Also we truly appreciated the amount of care they put into making us feel celebrated, I've traveled to 38 countries in my life and I can tell you that Pondoro is hands down THE BEST place I've ever stay at. We can't wait to come back but for now we love telling our family and friends about this little piece of heaven on earth :

Simply amazing! Without a doubt our best stay in our 3 week trip through South Africa. The staff is incredibly friendly and really go the extra mile to make everything perfect. A great location and an amazing atmosphere!
One of the best hotels we have stayed in in our lives. The staff is amazing, the food is unbelievable, and the guides are the best you could ask for! If you want to have an almost guarantee to see the big 5, this is the place to be. Marius and Erick are fantastic!
I can't understate how welcoming everyone is at Pondoro. While the facilities private jacuzzi on the deck overlooking the hippos on the river is quite special, the food, the location and the animals are all spectacular, it's how warm, welcoming and genuine the staff are that springs to mind when I remember our visit. The lovely notes from the staff that freshened our room while we were on game drives, our incredibly passionate driver and tracker who knew everything about the animals and worked so well together to show us the animals from a perfect vantage point to get great photos, the lovely wait/ kitchen staff who provided the most incredible meals and great tidbits of knowledge of the animals/ life in the park/ what to expect from the upcoming weather. The staff go above and beyond at every step. I would recommend Pondoro to anyone looking for the best luxury safari experience, we absolutely loved it.
I spent 14 days in South Africa, 5 of which were in Pondoro, they were very special days, my wife and I were speechless for so many pampering and pleasures from the Pondoro team. We had a wonderful stay. very human, we know the big five, our guide was splendid, he kept explaining everything about the animals, characteristics, differences, habits and so on. They are really very good at finding animals, they have divine eyes. As for the room and the staff, all very receptive and trying their best to make your stay perfect, we left with the feeling of having made friends and looking forward to our return, soon, we hope. Where do I begin, Starting off the people of Pondoro had excellent communication with us. I did hours of research trying to find the right place, since I was going to ask my girlfriend to marry me. Not in my wildest expectations did I think it would be so perfect. Everyone working at Pondoro just breathes love. The attention to detail, the food, the game drives, everything was just perfect. Every time we came back at the room new handwritten notes where everywhere and other attentions to detail. For our engagement diner which by then was hopefully for me they made a full candlelit diner in the wine cellar, completed with little rose leafs everywhere. It was so romantic. After diner when we came back to the room, the entire room was full of rose leaves and a hot bath was ready, just all ins and outs. The room, we had the Earth Suite, is just magical as well. If you ever want to have an experience you will never, never forget in your life, please go here. It is worth every penny. We will be back, and I will probably be ‘engaging’ again, hehe! We checked out of Pomodoro Game Lodge this morning after 3 wonderful days of safari drives and being pampered. Sam and Dion were great trackers spottong even the smallest animals and going out of their way. The chef is incredible as is the entire staff. There's always treats left in the room, take away meals for when you arrive or leave at ungodly hours and it's so delicious, you can only roll out. I felt like they were waiting just for me, not a guest but me. It was a wonderful experience and I hope you return one day.
