Submitted documents for someone who is out of the country, process was straight forward, long ques at times but not the slowest, even upon collection. They said it takes 6-10 weeks, it took 12 weeks on my side, not sure if that was due to the temporary closures that occurred. 29 March 2022,Google said the place is temporarily closed, but when I got there it was actually opened. Ow and if you can get their account number and know the required amount just go pay at the bank and come with the receipt to avoid going back cos no cash is accepted.
Long ques during business hours. There is paid parking available in the parkade across the street. The staff are quite overwhelmed with the endless amount of enquiries, so don't expect hotel-style service. We received our police clearance certificates after 4 weeks.
Hi reviewers, Personally - we had a great experience using the SAPS CRC with the help of the Sandton SAPS to do our finger prints part. If you reside within the JHB greater area, rather take some time & do the fingerprint process yourself. Take half a day to go to your local SAPS branch with R160 per application, your ID, copy of your id/passport, proof of residence & do the prints in the morning before 13h00 at your SAPS station. Once the prints are captured, payment done - take your pack including your receipt & hand deliver it to the SAPS CRC in Francis Baard Str, PTA approx 35-55mim drive from JHB to PTA. Park at the Parkade directly infront of Sanlan Plaza/SAPS CRC for safety. You'll wait about 15mins to hand-in your documents & you'll receive a collection slip. SAPS will send SMS 1st to confirm receipt of your documents & 2nd to collect your clearance. Ours took about a week from handing-in to collection. You can collect in the morning before 09h00 seemed like a good time as no one else was there when we collected ours - took less than 5 minutes in & out. Back to your business quickly. We got quotes from agents some claiming to be notaries for around R10,000.00 per person to get the clearance cert in 3-5 days. You can judge for yourself if this is worth the cost/effort. Good luck!
Please never try to contact them. They simply do not answer their phone! Who do you call if our own police can't even answer the phone?
I was told by a police offer at a police station that this centre is open 24hours a day. I arrived 1015pm after work to find this building completely locked up with no way to get inside.
5 stars! I know. I'm just as surprised. I applied for the pcr on the 19th July, got the 1st SMS on the 20th July. I expected a long wait. Nope, I was VERY wrong. Got the 2nd SMS to collect on 2 August. Took 2 weeks! I'm here to tell you that its possible. Hope this happens for everyone.
As of 8th March 2022 the police clearance department has been closed due to not paying rent. This sign was put up outside the premises. No one has any idea when it will reopen or if there is an alternative location.
This is the second attempt at getting my police clearance certificate, the first in 2020 was delayed for 4 MONTHS "due to covid". Now2022 I have been waiting for over 2 MONTHS thus far due to "system problems". Good luck getting hold of them via phone or email, and good luck searching for your reference number on their site. The Service is trash
I did a police clearance for a friend overseas , they did a police clearance for me and not my friend whos name was on the finger prints and application. And it takes forever to get hold a of a operater
THE MOST HORRIBLE POLICE SERVICE I HAVE EVER SEEN TILL DATE . THEY DONT BOTHER TO UPDATE THE APPLICANT VIA CALLS OR NEITHER THROUGH EMAILS . THEIR SERVICE IS A TRASH .
