The first on approach paid parking area was full; I had to wait for someone to leave before I could park. 'Normal at visiting hour, I suppose, but it made a hole in my visiting time. 'Got shouted at, "No, next one!" twice as I tried the first two entrances, until I found the far right 'Covid' entrance. Ouch! Nice restaurant, pharmacy and gift shop inside, but no-one present at the Info desk early in the visiting hour. Untíl I pulled out my camera, of course. Then more shouting, "Why you taking photograph!!" Okay, not shouting, just a little bit loud. Surprised, one evidently regular visitor remarked about the right-hand lift, "Hey, Wow! - it stopped here... Normally it doesn't stop at three..." ?? But! I was shócked to see my patient friend in his private ward. Nevermind his aches and pains - he looked like a newly discovered old hobo caveman with his long, dirty, unkempt hair and unshaven beard! This, normally well groomed gentleman's personal hygiene, well into his third month there already, seems last, but more like absent from their four to R5k per day!!? 'Professional Patient Care' list. And no, his aches and pains had nothing to with the shampoo and shaving cream parts of his anatomy. So, should you ever get seriously sick, rather go'n see Uncle Sipho, our friendly iNyanga/Sangoma at his shop opposite the taxi rank. There's a nice B&B around the corner at less than R5k per night should you need to stay over. 'Just not sure if he does Medical Aid or credit card payments. And take your own shampoo.
From now on I will come to this hospital. The radiology CT scan department is excellent. They were so helpful and sorted my dilemma out quickly. Their security gaurds are the nicest kindest people I have ever met. The security gaurd even borrowed me his cellphone power bank to charge my phone. God bless this hospital. You guys are amazing.
Excellent service. This is the only hospital that sends out a questionnaire after your visit that actually act on your responses. The best general surgeon that I have ever had the pleasure of meeting resides here. If you need laproscopic surgery or have weight issues, give Dr S Patel a call. She cares!
Greatly disappointed. I used to love this hospital until today. Brought in my mom today, she couldn't walk at all and the doctor conducted a very weak assessment. Gave her just an injection. No Xray or thorough assessment done and then asked us to return home with her. He asked us to contact the specialist ourselves and disregarded the fact that she can't walk. DO NOT go to Arwyp in the case of an emergency
Can I give a negative review? I've been here since last Thursday and I cannot believe the care patients receive. My bedding had not been changed never mind remade in 5 days, my room hasn't been cleaned at all. I was throwing up into the same bucket for 3 days which my mother eventually emptied out and cleaned as the nurses just started using it as a dustbin with vomit inside it. I am one of 4 or 5 other patients in a single surgical ward so it's not like the staff are being run off their feet. Nurses come to take bp and hang meds in the middle of the night and leave lights on, the nursing station is a big party at all hours which means it's impossible to rest or sleep. I had to ask for my IV site to be changed twice because my hand was swelling after a blood clot was flushed straight through it. I didn't get dinner last night, an apology was made this morning: we forgot you were here and no one thought to check on you. I've had to go down to the coffee shoplovely staff to get decaf coffee with lactose free milk because the wards only have caffeinated tea and coffee and dairy milk. The entire hospital feels like a bit of a scam. Mystery stains and blood on the walls and beds, is this actually the Kempton park hospital? My Dr and her staff have been wonderful checking up on me.
Horrible service during my stay there last week, no sense of urgency whatsoever. Admission took an hour, that was only the beginning. The place is short stuffed. You beg for the service. Even when you ring the bell the nurses have audacity to come switch it off without helping you. If you have an alternative hospital to go to, please stay away from this place. They all act as if they are doing you a favour. Even the management really doesn't know how to speak to patients which are actually paying clients
Wow what an experience , i can only speak well of ARWYP Medical Center. Today was my first time there. Out of this world. The best staff ever , they where so helpfull and caring from the moment i walked in. It's beautiful, like walking into a 5 star hotel. The staff really make you feel special.
Poor service I received on the 14th January 2023 at casualty, the only people who were professional and friendly were the ladies at front desk. Till I got to the rooms, Dr's unprofessional and no sense of urgency. Arrived there around 3am and CT scan and blood tests were done only to get the day shift Dr to explain the results which I had to beg because the night shift doctor left without even explaining CT scan results since they were back then Pathetic
Unfortunately, I cannot give you 5 stars. One thing you need to understand is, when it gets to people, especially sick people, you need to act swiftly. Your emergency department sounds like a church bazaar and one cannot complain about the service because there is no service. The same service there is at a Game store is at your emergency department. Workers standing around chatting and why so loud I will not understand and not attending to patients.
Me Jack who I believe is the unit manager, helped me through the hardest moment of my life by being very compassionate and understanding. A very helpful gentleman. Answered all my questions as best he could about the passing of my father and let me perform what I had to while obeying hospital rules. To him I say Thank you and all the ICU staff, Dr Gogo for trying your best to save my late father Mr YJ Mtembu.
