Description

The most eclectic and unique venue to hit Johannesburg, Rosebank…Is Here!!

Saigon Suzy is an Asian BBQ & Rock’n Roll bar with authentic Asian inspired cocktails and street food from all over South East Asia - Thailand, Vietnam, China, Korea and Japan.

The owners love of the culture translates in their innovative approach to the food with dishes such Dim Sum, Bao, Pha Banh Mi, Bento, Ramen & Miso.

Not just another asian restaurant - Saigon Suzy offers an EXPERIENCE from day into night!

Made up of ‘The Market,’ main restaurant and bar, where each soundtrack is hand picked and the food is served tapas style, to The Cherry Blossom Garden for that essential outdoor vibe paired with classic cocktails such as Singapore Sling & Nagasaki Negroni and then the utterly chic & cheeky ‘No Tell Motel’ secret Karaoke pods which are booked on the hour for special occasions, birthdays and just pure after dinner fun (…and yes.. there are dress up boxes)!

Needless to say - this is what you’ve been looking for as no where in SA has anything like it!

Every aspect of the playful, quirky and authentic decor has been carefully considered to create a truly one of a kind space for guests to feel free inspired and engaged.

Saigon Suzy is an Asian fusion restaurant and bar inspired by our travels and street food markets, therefore, because of the style we don't take table reservations. We are really sorry to disappoint you but due to popular demand, we believe this is the best way for everyone to experience what we have to offer. We don’t want to be that place that is always fully booked and you can never get in – that’s not Suzy’s style!

The same goes for our "No Tell Motel" karaoke packages, we have 3 gorgeous private Karaoke pods which you can book on the evening with your host. The rooms are available from R800 per hour or R1400 for 2 hours (Suzy recommends 2 hours!). Please note terms and conditions apply.

"Saigon Suzy is celebration of South East Asian cooking that draws influence from Southern China, Vietnam and Thailand."

The place is fairly nice. Has good interior and give some good vibes. Their food is definitely easy on the eyes but taste wise it’s a no. We returned back a dish, their chef came up to us and we ended up not getting anything else. I’d definitely recommend their drinks, they are nice as they look. In overall their service was decent.
This is a really vibey restaurant, quite busy when we arrived. It was a nightmare to find parking. I had made a booking, but somehow there was no table reserved for us. The staff was really friendly and helpful, and promptly made a plan for us. The cocktails were great, but the food was average. I feel that it's missing the freshness in Vietnamese cuisine. We had an enjoyable time overall. Would I go back again? Probably not. Vegetarian options: Good selection of vegetarian dishes Parking: Very hard to find parking Wheelchair accessibility: Not that I can see
What a stunning experience. Absolutely amazing food, friendly staff and beautiful interior. Felt like I was sitting in the middle of Hanoi. The CCR songs set the vibe too.
The restaurant decor has so much character, but the food is not authentic and lacks flavour. The service isn't great. Our waiter didn't even look at us once we got our food and we kept having to find her to order something else/pay the bill. It's such a pity. It's a really cute place.Food: 1/5
Absolutely delicious food!! Beautiful place too, am definitely returning as soon as possible! I had the cherry blossom cocktail and the chicken stir fry which was devine. Would 110% recommend this place if you like asian food, was well worth the price.
Incredible. The food is so fresh, and so full of flavour, great portions to have a starter and a main. Their Home Brew Rice beer is deliciously, and uniquely, tasty. There is so much attention to detail to the decor, from the stunning wall paintings, to the china-plate lightcovers and ceiling wallpaper. They really created an authenticly unique environment. Downside though, the service was a bit slow. We had to wait quite a bit for cutlery for our main course and our 2nd round of drinks were warmer than ideal by the time they got to our table, having been ready at the counter several minutes before being collected. They appear to be a bit understaffed. The music was too loud. It took away from the experience. The place is small and crowded already, the very loud music makes it nearly impossible to have a conversation without shouting and missing a couple of words with one's fellow diners. The music choice itself, although not in line with the restaurant theme, was still pleasant enough. Our table was in the first isle, close to the windows, and wafts of unpleasant smoke, not just regular, but what smelt alot like weed-smoke, would come in every so often. This is a very difficult thing for a restaurant to deal with, and they can't really be blamed for this, as the massive windows really help prevent that the small space gets too stuffy, one can only do _so_ much when it comes to expecting and asking for considerate smoking etiquette from smokers. By far though, the food and beer really made the visit worthwhile and worth the recommendation. Would like to try the Fourways branch next and see how it compares.
A beatiful restaurant. Great place to dine with friends and family. Child friendly and have kids menu also though limited. The food was presented well and it is very tasty.
Nice waiters, good cocktail, beer and beef red carry for my husband, but I almost got food poisoned by tempura prawn sushi roll. prawn definitely gone offffff almost puked after trying one. Their salmon roll was nice , and i was too hangry and tired to start a conflict. But I still have awful aftertaste. Very sad, cause place generally is GOOD and it could be very good experience. BUT kitchen has to check or at least smell before they start cooking. ‍
The food was good, but there are just far too many bees around when your food arrives. I am allergic to bees and I brought my wife to the restaurant tonight for her birthday dinner. We expected a great evening with good vibes, but the bees kept encircling around us when we were eating our food. The waiters brought burnt coffee to try get the bees away but it did not work. We ended up hurrying our food down and getting takeaways because the bees were just too much. Quite a disappointing way to spend my wife's birthday dinner, especially given that the food was good. Parking: Quite tough to find parking close by to the restaurant.
Cute and cozy! The food was good, we had the prawn money bags, chicken dumplings, the chicken bao & some drinks! Service was great.
